Maybe I'm getting into the weeds here, but I'm having a hard time with cervelo sizing- I currently ride a tarmac sl6 in a 56, with a 120mm -7 stem and 25mm of spacers. 58 seems nearly perfect slammed but with the 80mm reach bars (current is 70mm) I'm scared the reach will be too long especially with the new ultegra hoods (current is r7000). 56 is definitely the safer bet but it looks so damn ugly with a lot of spacers! Especially since it seems like the bar-stem spacers are gone for 2023. I'm 185.5cm, 88.5cm inseam for reference.
I had a similar situation for the 2022 model, being between a 54 and a 56. I wanted to avoid spacers, and the 54 would mean a severe saddle-to-bar drop and having to swap in a longer stem.

I solved it with a 56 and a 0 offset seatpost. The new bike comes with a 15 offset seatpost, BTW. The previous generation came with a 25, so if you move to a 0 it won't be as dramatic.

Are they really gone? That would be really unbelievable. Can't find right now, but I think I saw a Jumbo S5 pic with a 5mm spacer below the bars.

I saw a 2023 S5 this morning built up and waiting for its new owner to pick up this afternoon
Had 3 x 5mm spacers under the stem, so Im not sure where spib got that idea from

He perhaps meant the angled shims for the bar. The bar/stem combo now uses a sliding interface to adjust the bar angle.

So is the max size 58 in the new S5? I'm a 61 in specialized or do i buy a more upright stem with spacers?

It's been like that since the last gen already.
I sold my 58 S5 to someone 6'4" and with seatpost extended to all but 1cm and 120mm stem, it fits him perfect.

Factor Ostro Gravel (2023) 8.0kg
S-Works SL8 (2023) 6.3kg

*weights are race ready, size 58/L.
Sold: Venge, S5 Disc, Roubaix Team, Open WI.DE, Émonda, Shiv TT, Crux, Aethos, SL7

Also, I wonder what default stem lengths and bar widths does the bike come with depending on size.
this, also what is the angle of the stem? We need a calculator to determine cockpit sizing based on desired touch points.
It behaves as a normal 6 degree stem. You don't need any different calculator than you do for any other bike.
Because of the low stack height?
Because Cervelo did the calculations before releasing the last bike because they knew people would need to be able to compare the S5 to other bikes.

A Cervelo V stem with for instance 100mm -6 written on it behaves the same way as a conventional 100mm -6 stem would on the geometry chart of the bike.

Does anyone know what size stem and bars come standard on the size 56? I've seen in numerous articles where the sizes are dependent upon frame size, but can't find any specific details.

Going by the specs of the last one that'd be a 100 and 42. Possibly a 110 if they've changed anything but I doubt it.

Yikes - I need a 120 stem and would prefer a 38 bar, so I guess I'll need to order those separately. At this point, I'm having a hard time finding any dealer that has access to a 56 frameset. If anyone has any leads on where a 56 in the black colorway can be sourced, please do share.
