I live at the top of a 12% climb...so after every ride, I have to climb to get home. I've been thinking about a set of 2.3s just for that very reason...because everytime I'm on the way home...i think about it. Oh, the pain after an 80 mi ride!LedZeppelin007 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 20, 2022 8:18 pmPersonally, unless you are constantly riding up 8+% grades, I don’t know why anyone would get the 2.3s. Yes, they are really cool and ultralight. But, they give up so much in aero.

I live at the top of a 15% grade and no way am I buying 2.3s just to be faster for that 5 minutes or so on the way home only to be slower during the rest of the ride. These wheels have basically one purpose, very steep hill climb races or mountaintop finishes.

So are the white streaks just something that Enve owners have to deal with? They are nice wheels, but I’m starting to feel like I’ve been ripped off. And I hate that feeling.
I’m wishing I’d just gone for the Rapide CLX v2.

They've been on every set of Enve wheels I've owned, from my first gen 3.4s to my current set of 4.5 AR, G27, and M635 (just sold these with the bike though).
It's typical Enve quality

pretty much every wheel.. My 4.5AR are not bad at all dispite getting them years ago. My 6.7 are new so ok so far. My buddy has 3.4AR that are only 6-7 months old and they look terrible.LedZeppelin007 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 21, 2022 9:10 pmSo are the white streaks just something that Enve owners have to deal with? Yeah, when I'm rolling on the flats w/ my 2.3's I really wish I was on my 6.7's! I'll spend plenty of time this fall/winter on the 2.3's in the hills doing base miles w/ my compact gearing and 36t rearTobinHatesYou wrote: ↑Thu Jul 21, 2022 8:16 pmI live at the top of a 15% grade and no way am I buying 2.3s just to be faster for that 5 minutes or so on the way home only to be slower during the rest of the ride. I’m trying to figure out if I should try and get my money back. They are fine wheels, but nothing that blew me away or anything. 8/10 which is good, but expected for $2800. But then there were the numerous issues — debris in the wheels, bubbly decals, a huge white streak down the middle now with other white streaks. I feel like I’ve been ripped. Don’t like that feeling.tonytourist wrote:They've been on every set of Enve wheels I've owned, from my first gen 3.4s to my current set of 4.5 AR, G27, and M635 (just sold these with the bike though).

The ZIPP 353 is not a bad set if wheels by any means. Mine came out around 1300g with tape and valves installed. I find them a little questionable from an aero perspective (25mm internal, 28 external). The 3.4 make more sense for me in this department.
