Looking forward to the final build. My bike is also made with kaisei tubing (Mariposa road bike), a lot of fun to ride. Let us know the frame weight and size too.

Sure - off to paint now. It's a size 54 ETT. Weight is currently at 1.6 kg with both front and rear derailleur hangers. I assume paint will take to ~ 1.7.

Would love to see a picture of your Mariposa; stunning bikes.

Paint finished and now with the mechanic. Hopefully I can ride it next weekend.
For the time being I only have this picture.

Hi - is yours built with th super light tube set also?
Went for a ride yesterday; I am very pleased and impressed with the ride.

In terms of weight....the headset was placed before I could weigh. Mechanic said 1.6; but that's what I saw pre paint.

I think the frame weight was around 1.7-2kg with paint and CK headset (I know its a big range but i cant remember for some reason)

A few details I really like.

The seat post binder is through the seat stays; the screw is on the non drive side and nothing is visible opposite; on the drive side. Doing this is quite labour intensive, not exempt of dificulty and needs to be done when the frame is finished - get it wrong and the frame has to go to the bin.

That, alongside the the brakes under the chain stays, results in a really clean look in the rear.

Nothing of the above is practical - but it works and looks great.

I was leaning towards a raw finish for the stem; glad I listened to Pablo. He also made me a matching Garmin mount.

I wasn't expecting this weight; the mechanics weighed twice though (once in front of me).

The total weight is slightly below the sum of the individual parts which I did weigh. This isn't usual; however, I weighed the fork uncut, full chain, full cabling, etc.

Still strange.

Anyway, I am sticking with the 6.8 kg.

Never let the truth get in the way of good story.
