It doesn’t optimal but works flawlessly.

I would recommend Apple TV, much better experience because of bigger screen(of course you can connect Mac to Your tv) but Apple TV remote controller improves usability.

What about an Apple Mac Mini M2? I already have a wall mounted 55" 4K tv. Will the graphics be superior to the Apple 4K tv?

Ok ended up ordering a Mac Mini M2 for much better graphic performance.

I use a iPad pro M1 paired to a Wahoo kickr, and garmin fenix 7x(hr broadcast), works quite well, Zwift runs smoothly,quite like the setup.
