What are your goals for 2023?

A light bike doesn't replace good fitness.

Just curious as I know there are some real freaks here speed/power wise.

I don't race nor do I have any plans to. I'd like to do the following:

- Get my FTP above 200W (ideally about 250W, currently at about 190W)
- Get weight down to a sustainable 80kg
- Average at least 4hrs/week on the bike
- Do some group rides
- Get my solo average speeds above 19 MPH on various rides (currently around 18MPH, would love to get above 20MPH)
- Be more organized and methodical in training/periodization
- Go less crazy about analytics (good to know but not the be all end all)

I spent 2022 coming back from an injury so I'm excited and grateful to have an open runway to train this year. Curious to see what other people are doing.

Not getting hit by a car --
and not getting forced off the road (into the side of the mountain) either
(which almost happened on 2022-12-31 at a differential speed of 100km/h).

500h and as a secondary goal 15.000 km. Did 362h and 10.000 km in 2022.

10 w/kg 1 min up from 9.5 now
+1300w peak up from 1175w now
+1000w 10 sec up form 969w now.

Riding from Hamburg to Berlin (325 km) in less than 10h elapsed time

And also winning a race.

See you back here in a year :beerchug:

- Get my fitness back up (Strava suggests it's at "27" where as it should be double that)
- Get back to sub 68kg
- Get FTP back up to 275w (assumption that i've lost some)

At 68, I am in the inevitable decline stage of cycling. No one defeats Father Time, or even fights him to a draw, so my goal is to minimize the rate of decline. My secondary goal is to become the oldest person to complete the Everesting variant 10K roaming (10,000m, 400km, in less than 36 hours)

I'm just hoping to average an hour a day for the year. As is customary, Bay Area rain's starting me off in the hole.

The same as every year:
blank1. Try to take over the world
and
blank2. Lose a little weight, get a little fitter, wait for a helpful north-westerly & finally struggle up Box Hill in sub-7
57 years of inexplicable defeat on 1; may focus on 2 a bit more.
