What are your goals for 2023?

A light bike doesn't replace good fitness.

Still dream of hitting 4 before my biological age makes things too difficult...

Louis :)
Same dream here my friend
Determined to make it a reality this year by making training a priority.

I want to hit 6w/kg MAP for 4 minutes but I'm not sure if that's possible or not, intervals.icu has it in the low 5's now but I'm 5kg overweight and it wasn't a PR effort (15w off or so).

No racing for me at the moment, I still enjoy the training and going fast but don't have as much time to dedicate as I did so my goals have become a bit more holistic:
- Sub 5 min on the Chevin (PB is 5:19), climb out of Pidcock's hometown - Otley, he's the current KOM 3:55
- Sub 25 min on Cat & Fiddle (current PB is 25:59)
- Sub 20 5k run, used to be able to do this regularly only been able to run injury free in the last few months
- Sub 17 min 5k row
- Do an overnight (bike) bivvy
- Decent placing at the UCI gravel race in Galloway

My goals are relatively modest compared to most this year. I turned 60y old last october. I had planned for 2022 to be a year of trips abroad to ride in great locations.I rode mountains in and around Nice, then a week later went to Majorca for a training camp. Then some French mountains in June. What should have been a great year was tempered by the fact this was all done with pain or at best discomfort from 2 hernias and the knowledge i needed an operation. The trips had to come first :) Frustratingly while the op went well, i got sepsis and was off the bike for 6 weeks. Not long after and just before xmas i got covid. Another 4 weeks gone and that long journey back to healthy nomality. Throughout all this my Doctor said if i didnt have underlying fitness through cycling i would likley have faired much worse. So keep cycling guys and girls!
I have a Raid Pyrennes, to be completed in 100hrs, in late june. I am stupidly excited for it. I am riding with much stronger/lighter mates. I have spent the last 6 weeks riding light and doing some rowing to get myself in better shape.I have another 14 weeks of proper training to get to a point where my ftp is back at 255 at 70-72 kilo's. I may not get there but i should have the endurance back in place to complete the ride in the alloted time.
