Frame bag? Err, no.

I already have a saddlebag and a zipp speedbox frame bag (because the saddle bag isn't big enough, going to get rid of the frame bag, neither is big enough for a modern 6" smart phone)

As I have said, I don't wear cycling jerseys. I used to. But I don't anymore. I don't like the front zipper. I don't like the high collar. I don't like the graphics. I don't like the price. I don't like the material. Not as form fitting and stretchy and breathable as a dedicated base layer.

It seems you are indeed the only one with this dilemma. :D Other than bibs with a radio pocket I'm out of (serious) ideas and I'm not going to start suggesting fanny packs or the like :P

Or just leave the phone at home and enjoy the ride. But for carrying small items, its hard to beat a cycling jersey for functionality.

Bibs with a radio pocket, yes. I'll have to have a look around.
Maybe I will just look for some cargo adventure bibs, so long as they aren't all baggy in the pockets...

Rightside jersey pocket. Tool kit in the center pocket. Food in the left pocket.

Cargo bib shorts will be the best option I feel. I have an iPhone 11 and fits snuggly in Rapha Core Cargo bib shorts if I ever decide to wear a T-shirt instead of a proper Jersey. Phone stays in place, never fell out etc

The thing is, I'm not using a traditional cycling jersey but just using base layers. And they don't have pockets.

So my situation is that I previously had a 3G dumbphone. They've abandoned that network now so can't do that anymore.

And I'd rather not get another separate phone as then I either have to swap sim cards almost daily or else buy another simcard (which always inevitably expires or whatever)

I don't seem to have space for a 6.5" phone. My saddlebag is stuffed with tools, wouldn't want it smashing around in there against my screen anyway).

I don't want to install it on my handlebar either. Don't need to look at it, don't want to.
I got another frame bag, the zipp speedbox, more for snacks and spare tubes, it won't fit in there. :x

So lately I've just been going for rides and not even taking my phone with me.😬
I haven't had too much bad luck so far but don't want to continue/risk doing that anymore.
But I think that is not very smart. Because one day I'm going to get run over and won't even be able to call the ambulance.

Surely I can't be the only one with this dilemma?
Surely easiest thing is to get a jersey with pockets or am I missing something like you dont like pockets :-)

Get some bibs with pockets.
For me that's the solution. I wear cycling jerseys but I don't like putting my phone in those as I have other things to carry.
Idk why bibs with side pockets are so rare though. They are so convenient!

I don't like big baggy jersey pockets. For one thing I think they look a bit daggy.
I just don't like them. :noidea:

I'll have to look at cargo style bibs I guess...

You're getting the wrong jerseys if your back pockets are baggy.
