But they list the Deda Super Box (which is for 1-1/8 steerer) as the stem spec'd on the normal Astr? https://www.ridley-bikes.com/en_US/bikes/SBIASTRID023Requiem84 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2024 4:48 pmAccording to the technical specs it's the headset dimensions.

Headset and Fork dimensions are different. I got 1,5" upper headset bearing on my gravelbike now which has a normal round 1 1/8 tapered forkRequiem84 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2024 4:48 pmAccording to the technical specs it's the headset dimensions.

Messaged a local dealer in the USA about availbility. Anyone know what the price of a regular Astr frameset is in the USA?

That's confusing, as I presume it should be the same between the RS and non-RS?treyxt wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2024 5:07 pmBut they list the Deda Super Box (which is for 1-1/8 steerer) as the stem spec'd on the normal Astr? https://www.ridley-bikes.com/en_US/bikes/SBIASTRID023Requiem84 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2024 4:48 pmAccording to the technical specs it's the headset dimensions.

Iam 99.9% sure that they us the same d-shaped steerer like all their other bikes. Its 1 1/8 diameter.Requiem84 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2024 2:05 pmThat's confusing, as I presume it should be the same between the RS and non-RS?treyxt wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2024 5:07 pmBut they list the Deda Super Box (which is for 1-1/8 steerer) as the stem spec'd on the normal Astr? https://www.ridley-bikes.com/en_US/bikes/SBIASTRID023Requiem84 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2024 4:48 pmAccording to the technical specs it's the headset dimensions.

Also, $2995 in united states for the Astr frameset! More than I had hoped.

They don't mention the forksize in the technical documentation. Just the bearingsizeRequiem84 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2024 7:16 pmBut am I then misunderstanding their own Astr RS technincal documentation, or did they make a mistake in their documentation?sunfire2k5 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2024 7:11 pmIam 99.9% sure that they us the same d-shaped steerer like all their other bikes. They use a big plastic "spacer" to center the fork inside bearing. Its 1 1/8 fork/steerer.Requiem84 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2024 7:16 pmBut am I then misunderstanding their own Astr RS technincal documentation, or did they make a mistake in their documentation?sunfire2k5 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2024 7:11 pmIam 99.9% sure that they us the same d-shaped steerer like all their other bikes. Some of us do longer races than others.cerro wrote:Test ride or not depends on dealer I would say.RotterdamNL wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 5:16 pmspoke to Redley dealer yesterday. Indeed, its possible to order frame in basic colours without having to pay extra 400-500 eur for custom paintwork. Frame gonna be deliverd before christmas.
It is not possible to test Astr in the wild. Around january dealers will get showroom models, but again, no test riding option availible.
About tire clearence it is unclear that 50mm tires will fit with 2-by built, probably not.
I really like Astr and it is always nice to have official dealer nearby, but lack of internal storage, fender mounts and only 47mm clearence in 2-by is big no go for me, also considering that frame cost 2300 eur even without seatpost
fender mounts on a racebike?
