^ Nobody makes such a cassette though apart from Rotor's 11-39. There are 11-42/44/46 cassettes out there from various brands, and I'd hope that at least 42T should be okay. FWIW, I ran 42x27 + 11-40x11 with Ultegra RX, and it seems many have used 11-42 with 2x11 GRX.

If it was 11 speed, sure. In 12 though the only cassette options are 10-45 or 10-51, which need MicroSpline freehub bodies and are well outside the 2x GRX RD rated capacity. While there is 12x2 in MTB mechanical, that's with the 10-45 only, and with 10T front difference.

ĺIt might be possible to get 10-45 to work in some gears with 2x12 - perhaps with one of the 1x mechs - but breaking things by mis-shifting might be quite likely unless you could lock out problem gears in software.

A WW member made it work and posted about it on WW (105 Di2 RD with XTR 10-45 cassette)

Yes, doable with 1x - as the link documents - but I thought the question here was about MTB cassette + 2x. (I'd like to do something more or less like that, but don't much like the MicroSpline cassette ratios.)

I'm still amazed nobody has tried the Rotor 11-38 with Shimano 12s.

It’s 2x, not 1x.

Some do ... but then so did most of the early Shimano road 12s cassettes, and still the occasional one now. I had two DA ones which were total garbage. Current 105 and Sixwheel both good.

Has to be before Unbound. Probably next week or week after.

Didn't somebody say June 1st? (That's what I'm hoping for.)

Around 1300$ full groupset 2X12 Di2
Crank 48-31T RX820
Cassette HG710 11-36T
Chain M8100
FD RX825 RD RX825 Shifter RX825
Battery DN300 Wire SD300 Charger EC300
Slightly disappointed they didn’t slim down the FD to match the road groups. Could have helped with tire clearance as well.

That's why it should be GRX 7170
