Hi,
can somebody compare the stiffness of the OPEN UP frame to other road and gravelbikes?

Quite comfortable. Not the frame that screams stiffness at you and leaves you beaten up after a long ride.

Open up is a very comfortable frame, but if lateral stiffness is of importance some of the newer frames are probably better

Remember that the frame design and layup is essentially 9 years old at this point since it originally came out in 2015. The u turn fork is very light and comfortable but has a little more lateral flex than competing models. And the chain stays are notoriously flexy.

Still a very good bike, and revolutionary at the time, but others have caught up since.

9 years?!? That must be the longest production run of any bike out there. It must have been so far ahead of its time back then. Even now, it is not a bad choice for a road-live gravel bike.

Yikes, hehe will Gerard do that?! I suppose all modern bikes are going that way and it's gets the cables out the way for bar bags.

The UP had a refresh at some point from post mount to flat and sure I've read they changed the lay up again since. (Similarly the UPPER got a refresh with the carbon)

Great frame, got mine (UPPER) as an "endurance" roadie now. Very compliant whilst giving great power transfer.
