Force AXS Wide with 46/33 and 10-36

Hi! I'm working on rebuilding my current gravel bike (specialized diverge e5). Actually it has a mix-bash transmission that i put together from my box (well, it has grown up to different shelves now) of parts (the n+1 disease runs strong )

Currently It has: 11s 105 shifters and 11s 105 50/34 Crankset, ultegra r8000 FD, 11-32 casette and a rear GRX 11s mech (wanted to have the clutch to avoid slapping).

What i want is: Rival AXS shifters and calipers. Force AXS D2 rear mech with a 10-36 casette and Force AXS D2 Wide FD and... 46/33 chainring . Wide crankset and FD because i'm running panaracer 43mm and will probably go up to 45mm with some pirellis in the future.

I've read that officially, SRAM says that you shouldn't use anything different than the 43/30 chainring on the wide cranks. But putting the 46/33 chainring on the wide crank is mechanically possible, because it uses the standard 8 bolt SRAM setup.

But the question is: will it shift ok? I don't know how the +2.5mm chainline will affect shifting with the bigger than "officially supported" chainring in the wide cranks.

Had wide and standard FD on 46/33, only difference is extra offset, cage is same shifting is same, just the wide one would hit standard crank arm when I tested. Save your money and get Rival wide fd, has same new cage as update force and is few gram lighter

Edit: What frame are you riding? On my 3T Exploro Ultra the standard crank/fd clears 45mm tire and it has fairly short chain stays.

The frame is a Specialized Diverge E5 2022. I've tried with the SRAM 2023 road frame specs (https://www.sram.com/globalassets/docum ... -rev-c.pdf) of the derraiulleur printed 1:1 on a paper and put it over the seat tube and I think It will probably be a-ok with 42-43mm tires, but 45mm might be pushing my luck, so I prefer to play it safe going wide.

Shimano GRX cranks in either the 11 or 12 speed version work with SRAM AXS and flat top chain to give more range. My road bikes have 46/30 cranks with 10-44 or 10-36 cassettes. To use a 10-44, a Wolf Tooth road link is needed. To avoid the 46/44, sequential mode works with the chain length set for the 46/38, but an extended range RD cage from cycleschinook.com and 2 inches more chain works without sequential mode. For my road bikes, 2.2mm spacing washers correct the chain line.

I have a 2022 Specialized Crux, and I run 46/33 rings on a Force Wide crankset using a Force Wide front derailleur. I use a 10-36 cassette for gravel and a 10-33 cassette for road. No problems shifting and no discernable quality in shifting between the two set-ups

I have a 2023 Crux and looking to run either 48/35 or 46/33 crank with 10-36T and wondering if I need the wide crank and FD or if standard is fine?

Standard should be fine as long as you're ok with limited clearance for tires and chajnstay. See specs chart
