Wait, whaaaaaat?

There's nothing I can see on Shimano website?

Edit: OK, can see it there now. Have the Ultegra/DA front derailleurs been pre-designed to be mounted lower on a standard road-bike braze-on to accomodate the 46t ring? I get a sense this might not work on some bikes with braze-ons too high?

Shimano Australia didn't even know this was out yet when I rang to enquire about availability...

Having considered this further, I can't understand why Shimano introduced this on race-focused Ultegra/DA and not on 105...?

105 (particularly as the derailleur has compatability with the 11-36) is being marketed as the "all-road" middle ground between DA/Ultegra (pure race setup) and GRX 12 (with it's gravel focused +2.5mm chainline and clutched RD). Perfect for for weekend warriors doing sportives and such, with the standard road chainline and these are precisely the kinds of riders who would benefit from these chainrings.

We are still more interested   in knowing the compatibility of the 12 levers (GRX-105) with the previous 11 rear derailleurs.....

Because these chainrings are made for racing.

or rather that the 105 group is for a more "quiet" cycling, which does not mean that you cannot compete with it.....

^ Sounds about right...

Presumably that means we won't be seeing anything in the foreseeable future here - just like everything else really. Sigh.

If then the 9200 FD is cleared for using it with a 46-36, would then be possible to use it with the new GRX 12s rings? 46-30?
Thanks

The listed capacity is 16T, so 46-30 should work. However a 30T small ring is not explicitly supported by Shimano.

I see.. thanks for you reply.. I’m just thinking a work around for using the new GRX making it Di2 as a 11-34 would be sufficient for my riding

They won’t work properly. You may be able to fudge them so they work acceptably but they’ll not be that slick in operation.

It's a good option, definitely better than using third party cranks/rings. If you don't need a clutch and the 30-34 gearing is low enough for you then its totally workable.

The one potential issue is the GRX crankset chain line is 2.5mm further out than 12s road. People have been able to take this up with standard FD adjustments but I would say it depends on the frame.

I'm running a 9200 FD along with 11-speed GRX 48/31 chainrings, but not on a stock GRX crank. I'm using a modular crankset, one where I could choose the length of the axle. Hence I'm on par with the 9200 chainline. Prior to getting the modular crank I was using the stock GRX crankset but with 2mm chainring washers that offset both chainring inboards. The unique GRX chainring mounting system (8 bolts total) makes inboard chainline adjustments possible.

Found a pic on a Japanese website.

Of note, it appears the chainring is non-series - it's not branded Ultegra or Dura Ace and shape of the spider arms looks like it may work with other Shimano 110BCD cranks as they aren't a "perfect" match for the crankarms as pictured:
