Hey all,

Swapping from 52/36T round -11/32T cassette to a 50/34T Absolute Black Oval 11/34T cassette.

Chain length is big chainring big sprocket plus four links for the GRX RD... but does the oval chainring affect chain length at all?

Cheers

Kind of figured that it is wrapped around half of the chainrings teeth so should affect much?

The rear derailleur cage *might* move back and forth very slightly, depending on the shape of the rings. Front shifting may or may not be more finicky; I've not seen or used AB rings so can't comment.

I run an oval 52t and a round 34t with DA 11spd no issue regarding chain length whether in the large nor small chainring
