Crank is a beautiful piece of art

The 40T CarbonTi ring matches it perfectly

Try using some grease to help, it’s a tight fit but I’ve never had any issues using any 30mm bearings.

put it in the freezer for awhile, then try. It might be necessary to use a rubber mallet and/or a book between mallet and crank. I have this with my clavicula classic cranks.

I presume the crank is new. Is the BB new too?
Have you measured the axle to see what the difference is?

Have THM not replied? I'd wait just in case they have a better solution. Perhaps the axle is out of spec?

I have found this to be a common issue with BB30/PF30 cranks and bearings and while freezing the spindle may allow insertion, if there is any binding such that you need to bang on the crank with a rubber mallet to get it inserted, that is most certainly going to seriously distort the inner races of the BB bearings. I have always felt that either the BB30/PF30/BB386 standard is not clear as more often than not the spindle ends up being oversized by .2 - .3 mm. My solution when installing an SRM Hollogram powermeter with a Cannondale BB30 spindle was to use very fine grit Emory cloth and 'wet polish' the spindle enough that a few microns of material are removed to the point that the spindle could be inserted by hand with only a moderate amount of effort.

Solved

Done 30 minutes with 800 sand paper on the spindle and a small amount of vaseline, it will fit.

Good to know. I'm waiting for my THM crankset to arrive.
