Hi Fellow bikers,
I'm want to go for a Specialized Crux and found a 52cm and a 54cm (pretty rare .
I have a Specialized Aethos in size 54, so first choice would be a 54. But if I look at the stack and reach a 52 would also be possible:
- 54cm: for me a 100 stem and 5 mm spacers under stem.
- 52cm: for me a 110 stem and 15mm spacers under stem.
Should I go for the 54cm as adviced by Specialized (long reach short stem plan)? Or go for a 52cm as I'm looking for and Aethos with fat tires which rides as a road bike (which I ride a lot on the road , and some more post exposed for comfort (already have a Roval Alpinst 360 Post)
And dis anyone go a size down from an Aethos or Tarmac to an Crux?
Thanks!

Not sure I have the answer though my tendency is to size down and go with a longer stem but you might get some insights here - viewtopic.php?p=1779120#p1779120

Thanks! In the end I went dor the 54, as advised by Specialized and to test it as a real gravel bike.MarkoP wrote: ↑Mon Jan 23, 2023 8:41 pmNot sure I have the answer though my tendency is to size down and go with a longer stem but you might get some insights here - viewtopic.php?p=1779120#p1779120

I ride a 56cm Specailized road bike with a 120mm stem. Went with a 56cm Crux with a 100 mm stem. I am more stretched out on my road bike, but the reach is only a couple of MM shorter on the Crux.

Same exact question I ran into and decided to stick with the same size as my road bike, so I'd go with your 54. It fits great but did swap out to a zero setback as I have fairly short legs relative to torso. I don't find feeling upright and use the Crux actually as my all around bike now. Position wise is actually fairly close to my former road racing rig.
