Hi guys
Just wanted to share some impressions and info about the new NXT45AGX rim from Nextie.
Specs;
https://www.nextie.com/gravel-AGX-700C-NXT45AGX
I bought them as a complete wheelset with DT 240 EXP hubs and CX-ray spokes (24h/24h). Total weight incl DT Swiss 32mm rimtape is 1468 grams on my scales. Went straight up tubeless with Panaracer SS 38/40mm wide tire. Look amazing with almost 1:1 ratio on tires / rim. With 29mm internal the tires blows out to 41.5mm at 50psi. Running 35/38psi now and the wheels feel snappy and quick on my Kanzo Fast bike. Its been awhile since I used this bike but speed was good on the usual suspect route I run here today. Def not slowing me down!
So far a clear thumbs up!
Pictures:
Weight with DT 350s and CX-ray is about 1540 grams. That is really good weight/spec/value compared to other 40mm wheelsets

I feel like that last line was a shot at me!
I just bought a set of the 3T Discus 45/40-they came in at 1,661 grams without valves or tape . Wonder if your rims are the exact same mold since the specs are identical, though your build is certainly significantly lighter. Waiting for some Pirelli Gravel H 35mm tires (was trying to save some weight since the 3Ts are so heavy). I did mount some 38mm Pathfinder Pros and had a similar experience to you as far as how they measure on the 29mm ID rims-a little over 3mm gain at around 40 psi.
Enjoy your wheels-agree that 40mm external rims look pretty sweet and aero with 38mm or so measured tires.

Exactly the rim I've been waiting for. Do they do builds on other hubs ?
I'd love these on come carbon Ti

Interesting. I'll need to check this out as I was going to order another wheelset from LB.
only interested in carbon Ti hubs so hopefully they have them as an option.

Nice looking wheels, I have the Farsports gravel wheels with 26mm internal and thought they were wide...but this takes it to another level...wide is definitely the way forward for gravel. I run 43mm Gravelking SKs on mine and they come out as around 46...I can comfortably run 30psi on those without any risk of rim damage and I am currently 85 kg or so...

Wow, those look really interesting. Though I'm pretty happy with my Farsports 26mm internal width rims, this may well be the way forward. A bit heavier than narrower rims, but weight isn't too bad and you'd make it back on the tires by having narrower tires widen up to match wider and heavier tires; you might even come out ahead.
I presume these are inspired by the 3T wheels and they make some big claims for aerodynamic improvement, would be nice to get independent verification that it actually makes much of a difference with tires this wide.

Yeah. My SS 43mm came out on another Nextie 25mm internal set at 45.5mm. Should be wider on 29/30mmsaldegracia wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 3:17 pmNice looking wheels, I have the Farsports gravel wheels with 26mm internal and thought they were wide...but this takes it to another level...wide is definitely the way forward for gravel. Sorry to hijack the thread, but what's the benefit of so wide rims for gravel? I got the aero thing, but what about the drawbacks? Added weight, rims that can easily be scratched by rocks etc.
I ride some really rough stuff on my gravel bike and have yet to find the need for rims with internal width greater than 22mm.
Unless it's for looks - I agree they look great.

works better with wider tires, allows for lower pressures with a lower risk of tire roll etc...I actually think a wider profile allows for wheels with better stiffness/weight ratio.

Hi and thanks!
Wheelset is usd249 per rims and highly dependent on what spokes and hubs you want to use. Nextie builds them for just usd 30. Mine is cx ray and dt 240 exp and i also bought some with dt350s for my friends. I believe they ended up at about usd 950-1000 with dt 350.
Check out their "builder" online or send them an email for quotation. Info@nextie.com or alice@nextie.com

Great find! This look likes a great option. I would want to get this wheel set to run some 45-47mm wide tires for my more gravel oriented "big" wheelset. Has anyone seen any other gravel specific wheels this wide (29-30mm internal width) like this from other companies? If not, you would have to do this with an actual mountain bike rim, and would make this quite rare right now.

Nextie also makes this in 35mm height I think. Check it out on nextie.comJdadour wrote: ↑Mon Jun 28, 2021 4:31 pmGreat find! This look likes a great option.
