Ridley Kanzo Fast
Moderator: Moderator Team
That looks good!
I see the Kanzo Fast as a direct competitor to the Exploro Racemax. Both make similar claims about being the most aero gravel bike. Claimed weights are almost identical. They have the same tyre clearance. Both use proprietary aero seatposts, dropped chainstays, and so on. They're both focussed on 1x (plenty of other bikes elsewhere if you want 2x).
The only differences are that the Kanzo Fast frameset:
1. Costs less¹
2. Includes a sleek integrated handlebar
3. Has internal cable routing, although personally I think internal routing is a little overhyped
4. Doesn't have the clever 3T marketing which makes a million riders lust after the Exploro (somehow it can be the world's sleekest gravel racer and a bikepacking monster with a hundred bags, bottles, and straps)
So I think everybody who likes the Kanzo Fast should at least shortlist an Exploro, and vice versa, before they click the "Buy now" button.
¹ In my area, at least. People in other geographies might get different prices or wait-times...

Has anyone tried clip-on aero bars that would fit the Ridley integrated bar-stem?
Obviously, most traditional clip-ons are designed for round-tube handlebars; that won't work here. I'm wondering whether something stem-mounted, like Control Tech's "Sirocco", could work. Are there any better options?

That is a cool bike and was on my shortlist but I was placing comfort as a top priority after feeling beat up after 6+ hour events and those Aero seatposts don't appear to have much compliance, I could be wrong but didn't want to chance it. Still really like that bike. Curious about weight of this build as it's very similar to my Giant.

I must admit we dont have the roughest of gravel here in Norway but I found the Kanzo Fast to be comfortable. The 45mm tires will always provide good comfort in my experience. Weight for that exact build was 8kg flat ex pedals and with Fizik Argo Vento R1 saddle
The new Orange build I hope to get to around 7.6kg with full SRAM Red AXS 10-33 incl 42T powermeter RED crank. Not the lightest wheels or tires possible (about 1550grams for wheels).. Pretty easy to make some 1150 gram wheels but not with this profile and internal width. (39/44 profile and 25mm internal).
Iam interested in the 3T wheels - hope that Nextie comes around to make alternative with 40mm external and 27-29 internal..

Me too. It could be Light Bicycle, or Farsports who come out with a proper aero gravel wheelset. It’s only a matter of time until someone offers an alternative.sunfire2k5 wrote:Iam interested in the 3T wheels - hope that Nextie comes around to make alternative with 40mm external and 27-29 internal..

Where did you guys buy your bikes from? In the US, things look quite limited in terms of availability. I would think this would be a prime candidate for an Ekar build...
Lots of bikes: currently riding Enve Melee, Krypton Pro, S Works Crux, S Works Epic Evo, SL7.
In build: SW SL8
In build: SW SL8
I think there have been supply-chain problems; the combination of Covid-19 restrictions (and the massive popularity of cycling during lockdown, in some countries), and the fashion for gravel bikes... in the UK there is the additional complication of Brexit. I spoke to 4 different suppliers in the UK, two suggested an August 2021 delivery date, one didn't seem interested in selling a bike, and one offered April 2021.
You have a good point about Ekar! Mine will have Ekar (and Campag Shamal wheels).

Big issues with components for complete bikes. Try to get a frame and buy components online. (Like ekar).
I bought some groupsets last year just to have... 2x di2 and 1x red. Now prices are roaring (up 30% and no stock)..
So, frames should be "no" issues (atleast if you find the right dealer).
