Crux 2021
Moderator: Moderator Team
Hello, 5 months of winter is coming back soon and I'm considering getting a crux. However, I only want to ride a 2x Shimano Road 12s group with a 50/34 crank (11-speed). Specialized states that this is not possible, see link.

Can anyone confirme that it is possible?
And another size question: I'm 1,79 m/ 84 cm inseam and I ride a 54 Tarmac SL7 which fits perfect. The crux has a longer top tube and longer stack. Is 54 a good choice too?

50/34 works fine on my Crux.
Thx guys, more questions:
I'm 1,79 m/ 84 cm inseam and I ride a 54 Tarmac SL7 which fits perfect. The crux has a longer top tube and longer stack. Is 54 a good choice too?
Which seatpost do i need (yes 27,2mm) but more important, what Di2 battery mount for which seatpost do i need?
there is a specialized one you can get but any 27.2 mount will work. i have a 54 tarmac and a 54 crux, I'm a bit taller with a bit shorter inseam and run a 120 6 degree on the tarmac and crux.micmax wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2023 6:45 pmThx guys, more questions:

Fair enough. It's certainly not supported - as per Specialized documentation. I even phoned my local Spesh support and they double checked and confirmed, not supported.

Yeah, 50/34 fits fine. I've ran it with both a GRX and now Ultegra front derailleur. Nothing special needed...
Nice build. How did you manage the battery integration, which seatpost, which battery mount?renoracing wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 3:44 amYeah, 50/34 fits fine. I've ran it with both a GRX and now Ultegra front derailleur. Nothing special needed...
I guess in two years for the next product cycle. So far, today's Crux ist still difficult to get hold of, especially as frame only. Not a bike that is flooding the market.
Although as a home mechanic, I love the normal cables, not having to redo the brake cables when servicing the headset.

Any issues with the Ultegra crankset and GRX front derailleur? I'm running full GRX Di2 right now but wouldn't mind going to a 50/34 setup. I have the GRX FD though.renoracing wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 3:44 amYeah, 50/34 fits fine. I've ran it with both a GRX and now Ultegra front derailleur. Nothing special needed...

Finally after waiting almost 14 months to get hold to a SW Crux frameset in size 52 2 weeks ago it arrived at my LBS and it was finally build.
I did a couple of rides so far, a longer one as well, and I cannot be happier with it.. I have no regrets to have switch from an Epic to this beast
More pics and weight will come soon on the “introduce yourself etc” section
Here a sneak peak.. consider I have, since the pic was taken, changed the fit to one that suits me after a retul session.
I wanna thanks all forum members who helped me during this time answering my questions
