Nicccce! You inspired me to pick up a DA9000 50x34 for mine.

Good call on the seatpost, I should check the length on mine.

I'm getting sub 18 dreams now haha

Sweet! It's such a great looking crank. My road bike has a 7900 SRM so I'm partial to DA cranks.

18lbs seems very possible without going crazy. That 18.25lbs is with some metal 6700 road pedals. Newer ultegra or DA pedals would drop another 75g.

She's on the road...and pretty light at 17.3 lbs with pictured Cadex 36 wheels and Ultradynamico Cava 33.?? tires.

I have the J&L bolt-on thru axles on the way, which should get it very close to 17.0lb.

Other notable specs:

Cadex Race stem
Cadex Race AR handlebar
Pro Stealth carbon saddle
Black Inc carbon seatpost
Dura Ace 9100 50/34 crank - Chainring clearance is tight, but it's safe for the riding I do.
Ultegra Di2 R8150 groupset
Carbon "aero cages" from a BMC I had a while back, they fit and look great on this frame.

I will probably run my Reserve 40/44 wheels with 35c semi-knobbies for gravel, which for me is hardpack dirt/light gravel roads. Would be curious to try it with 650bx47 if the need should arise.

Overall, very happy with it. A quiver killer, yes perhaps, for some. I'm hanging onto my old rim brake Speedvagen for the group rides.

Very nice! It looks great. That is by far my favorite colorway for the Aspero.

I ended up using some 1mm spacers on each side of the BB for more crank clearance with the power meter. You could do the same for the chainring clearance issue. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DHN8TM8?p ... ct_details

I'm curious if the lighter thru axles will induce any brake rub. Let me know! I've noticed more brake rub with the SES 3.4s vs the G23s. I'm guessing because they are stiffer?

This is "Road Mode". I haven't had a chance to weigh it in this configuration.. too much riding with this nice weather in Upstate NY.

Nice! That looks killer with the ENVE and skinny tires.

I have done a couple rides with the J&L axles and haven't noticed any increased break rub. The new "12-speed" Shimmano hydraulic calipers have notiicebaly better pad clearance/piston retraction than the previous generation. They don't stop any better, but they are worth upgrading for the noise reduction.

Thanks for the link to those spacers. I'm so careful when I shift to the small ring, I honestly doubt I will ever have an issue, but it couldn't hurt to have an extra mm of space in there.

Here's another more straightforward side-shot of the bike:

Hi all

Just got my Aspero 5 and am absolutely loving it, a major upgrade from aluminum Trek Gravel bike.

A question: does anyone have guidance on the max tyre clearance for 650B tyres? I've got a front wheel with a 2" ("50") Schwalbe G-One Ultrabite that fits in the fork fine, but the measured with with calipers is closer to 48mm. Is the rear clearance broadly the same? I need to get a rear wheel purchased. Does anyone have experience with Pirelli Cinturato 650B's? Do they size up large like the 700C version?

Thanks

Weight on bikes are measured in kilos, parts in grams. 1 kilo is 1000 grams. If you don't know about the metric system, I highly recommend googling it. It's like the Aspéro of measuring stuff. Anything else is an ugly alloy MTB-frame with canti brakes and 4 chainrings.

Tyre clearance in 650b is 49 mm btw. That is 4,9 cm.
