I have one, and it definitely is a Tantan GR029. I have it built up for cross, excellent frameset!
Can you share some more experience with this frame?
How is the weight and stiffness? Have you ridden it in a "road setup"?

If anyone else has a Tantan GR029 frame, feel free to share as well :)

Importing Carbonda or Yishunbike to EU?

Hi all - reading the thread, and narrowed search to Carbonda 696 or new 2023 Yishunbike 1005.

For those in the EU:
  • where do you buy?
  • how do you handle import taxes?
  • Are there clever ways to save? Some mentioned specific shipping options.
Input most appreciated :D

In the EU - usually with the frames I got from LTBikes, I get them to have the value around $100 USD and say it's a gift. Usually keeps duties low or not at all.

Does anyone have experiences with Yoelo's G21 frameset? I'm looking to replace my trusty Canyon inflite to a "proper" gravel bike becouse of limited tire clearance and lack of fender mounts.

If I end up buying the G21 I'm not sure about if I should go with a 54 or 56 size. The difference between these two sizes seem quite odd to me:
- 54 has 383mm reach and 566mm stack
- 56 has a 387mm reach and 586mm stack

So basically only +4mm of reach but +20mm stack when sizing up from size 54 to 56. I'm 177cm with short legs and long torso. Some of my previous bikes:

- Canyon inflite: 393mm R (+90mm stem and +70mm reach on handlebar = 553mm total), 372mm S
* slightly too long, stack is fine for gravel riding

- Look 795: 383mm R (+110mm + 65mm = 561mm), 553S
* spot on for racy road riding, could be perhaps 10mm longer

- Eddy merckx SR72: 373mm R (+100mm + 70mm = 543mm R, 510mm S (+30mm spacers)
* slightly too low and short for me

Size 54 on Yoleo yields: 383mm R (+80mm +80mm = 543mm), 566R

Size 56 is: 387mm R (+80mm +80mm = 547mm), 386mm S

I quess I could go for either size deoending if I want higher or lower stack? I want a bit more relaxed position compared to my Look for long gravel rides and full day adventures. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Any idea what frame this is supposed to resemble? Reminds me of the Venge but with a few tweaks.

Looks SICK IMHO! One of the best-looking shapes at the moment

Definitely not Venge-esque ... this thing has NO stack. It's super low and long. 56 is 546 stack and 410 reach  More like a Pardus Spark Evo.

It is a 696 which is not a bad thing as it is the most well regarded open mold gravel frame out there. There was a post earlier listing all the manufacturers using this mold, Ridley, Bombtrack... Carbonda is a retailer who you can contact privately while the actual manufacturer is Flybike so pastel might have some smaller modifications of their needs to the mold.

Basically if you live in a country where Asian private import of carbon components are easy (so no risk of being massively import taxed like in EU), can take the risk of issues around warranty, have time to wait for delivery and you can source components and do/want the build yourself this will be a financially cheaper solution.

Going via a brand like pastel will bring the advatage that EU registered companies have some pretty strict regulations to handle warranties and you would get your bike probably much quicker ready to ride. They are building up a brand which eventually will also help with the resale value of the bikes, so some of the extra costs is offset with that.

Currently have one of these on order: https://www.ornanbike.com/best-chinese- ... _p106.html

Anyone have experience with frames or other products from Ornan?
I've been doing more research on this frame now that I've ordered and it appears to be sold locally (US) as the Franco Grimes.
I've ordered it without a fork as I have a couple of Whisky CX forks I've been waiting to use. Looking to use this in an all-road kinda setup with SRAM XPLR 1x, wireless blips, TRP brake levers and Paul Klamper copies I found on AliX. It'll be replacing my old Poseidon X alloy gravel bike.

The bike is here! Happy with the outcome of the paint job and overall build. :)
I built it up mainly with SRAM Rival XPLR along with some other bits for braking and shifting. I've only got 15 or so test miles on it so far, still finalizing my position and dialing in all the adjustments. I'm not totally sold on the look of the silver levers now that they're on the bike, and the hoods feel a little smaller than I'd like. The braking power isn't ideal (as expected), but it is getting better as I use them. I may swap out the levers and calipers at a later date for something like the TRP Hylex system, I'll give it some time and see how I get along with the current setup.
