Hi all,

Coming back into cycling so I don't have all of the technical knowhow just yet.

I need to change stems after a fit. The Giant website is confusing and internet searches lead to more questions. I believe my bike is an "OD". Does that just mean it's a 1-1/4" diameter (as opposed to 1-1/8")? So far, I have found Zipp and FSA. There are some threads on the internet that say Zipp is a direct fit (as opposed to shaving the spacers to fit). Anyone have any advice or first hand experience? Thoughts on Zipp vs FSA? Whatever I chose, I will be pairing it w/ a handlebar too. Thanks!

Is your Defy an Advanced or Advanced Pro?

If it is an Advanced it uses an OD steerer (1.1/8 at the clamping area) which will use a regular stem.

If it is an Advanced Pro it uses an OD2 steerer (1.1/4) which will have to have a specific stem. There are already a few options in the market such as Syncros, Canyon, Zipp, Extralite, Ritchey, Giant, Fouriers, just to name a few...

Thank you! It's an Advanced so a 1-1/8" steerer. Appreciate your help.
