Hey people. Has anyone put 32mm wheel
width on their System Six? I’ve been looking at Light Bicycle WR65’s and these are 32mm external. I believe the ENVE 4.5 SES is also 32mm external too

Thanks in advance

32mm external width is what the systemsix was build around. Those knot64 are part of the system. So go ahead.

Sorry I should have added the internal diameter as well Image. They’re 25mm internal and 32mm external

definetly works but keep an eye on tire clearence. I ran ENVE SES 4.5s with 30mm vittoria tires and they blew up to just under 32mm. Cleared the frame and fork but with only 3mm of clearence on each side.

I think those knot64 wheels had a 21mm inner diameter. The Light Bicycle rims have 25mm. Any tire on those will a wider external width.

That's handy to know. Did you try them with any other tyre too?

Yeah exactly, I'd thought I'd check before I buy them. I'm hoping to put an order together this weekend

Nice bike! Few questions.... what do you think of the wheels? What build did you do? Why did you go for shallower on the front? What tyres exactly are you running and hows the clearance?

They are great.

When I own SystemSix, I had 2 sets of front wheels: AR56 and WR65. And one rear wheel: WR65.
Pictured is 56/65. But I actually ride WR65 front and rear a lot more often. It's really rare that I look into weather forecast and see over 20 km/h wind and think "yeah, better ride a little shallower front wheel today".

I tested various tires. Michelin Power Cup 28mm, Specialized Turbo Cotton 28mm, and multiple sets of Continental GP5000 28mm.
All of them have plenty of clearance. Michelin is the biggest tire if I recall correctly.

Brilliant! What spoke count did you go with on the rear? 24 or 28 and what offset did you buy?

Thanks

How much longer will we refer to inner width as diameter?

A 25mm "inner diameter" wheel would be too small even for a shopping cart

Thanks for the info, I'll be ordering these this weekend. I'm just asking if I can change the colour of the hub (chris king r45d). I also want 20 spokes on the front too
