The SL8 fork steerer and the Rapide cockpit have such a tight fit...I literally have to rotate and force the Cockpit onto the steerer. Never ever in my life had a stem such a tight fit! A normal S-Works SL7 gets much easier onto the steerer.
It is so tight I see no way to adjust the headset play...What a piece of sh** from Specialized for several thousand dollars...
Mine was tight as well, so i sprayed bit of water there and pushed cockpit onto the fork with front wheel in place pushing it from top to bottom, but gently enough.
SW SL8 RTP 56cm @ 9270 / CLX II / CS OSPW / CEMA BB
S Epic 8 L @ XX T-Type / Berg Ratheberg 30 / Quarq / Fox Transfer SL 100mm / 3p

Says basic, common bike mechanical skills. The tire lever trick is hardly a secret. Only took a gentle spreading action to get my Rapides on, didn't even need to remove the bolts, just made sure they were a bit loose.

Did you install the expander in the steerer before or after mounting the cockpit?

Lol, I was literally just going to post that meme. Sold out quick.

Edit: I was able to snag one but I'm thinking it's not going to work. I'm riding a 40/120 right now. The width I think will be fine but I'm losing .5 cm reach and .5cm stem.
