Do you guys think a sl7 tarmac stem will work on this frame? If I can find a 10mm 3d printed transition spacer similar to this:
https://www.instagram.com/p/Cw4AdAEyToM ... BiNWFlZA==

I need the -12 angle to get enough drop. Or I have to drop down a frame size to S. But with my 180cm and 86cm inseam its not ideal
Yes, it looks like it could work with the correct transition spacer. How much drop are you looking for? I could get about 13 cm with 78 cm saddle height on the M and the FSA SMR stem slammed.

Really? I can't get that much when I put the measurements into bikegeocalc.com.
I need absolute minimum 11cm at 76,5cm saddle height. However for this bike I would like to have it routed semi integrated rather than fully internally.

I guess it there's a margin of error on the measurement method, but I just checked mine there: saddle height 76.5 cm, back edge of bar to ground 90 cm, middle of saddle top to ground 101 cm. So that's 11 cm drop with 20 mm of spacers using cable routed through stem. Routed under FSA SMR stem would be 5 mm lower than my setup if just mandatory spacers were used giving 11.5 cm drop.

Not sure if this corroborates or contradicts but with 30mm tyres, at my 76cm saddle height (centre of BB to top of saddle through the centre of the rails) I got saddle top 100.5cm, bar top 90.0cm vertical from floor so 9.5cm of drop, that's with 10mm top cap and 5mm transition spacer, cables routed through ACR stem.

In terms of crown race, it doesn't seem to make much difference: the fork turns freely without and seems to have a crown race built in so I didn't install it.

Missing parts: wiggle said bike building team have spare parts so they'll send to me in 3-5 days.

3T Aeroghiaia bar reduced to £99 now in 40cm and £79 in 42 or 44. Bargain and a good match for this frame with entry holes perfect for either fully integrated or semi integrated cables.

Ok, but unless I'm missing something 100.5 - 90 is not 9.5!

I can see a gap at the top of my fork so I'll take the crown race off when I next disconnect the brake cables. Well spotted.

Yes you're right, that's a typo! Top of bars to floor was 91cm. Drop approx 9.5cm but could easily be +/- with measurement error as you say

I don't understand how your bars are higher than mine when I've got 35 mm tyres and 15mm more spacers than you.

I was skeptical, but true to their word, the missing parts arrived from Wiggle as promised.

Edit: seat clamp cover now fitted and the bike no longer looks unfinished. The cover should help reduce water ingress, and it is nicely secured by a little nib that sits in the bolt hole. I didn't bother with the mudguard mounts as my method of attachment at the front looks neater and the Condor eyelets with the additional nuts seem to be easier to align. I've also just finished applying clear protection stickers where the mudguards touch the frame, which should alleviate any tendency for rattles and help preserve the paint work.

I'm very happy with this bike: the build was straightforward and the frameset ticks quite a few boxes: aero-ish, great clearance, 27.2 seatpost, BB386evo BB (better option than threaded imo), non-proprietry integrated cabling (FSA ACR), mudguard mounts, relatively inexpensive, looks decent enough, high quality workmanship, made in Taiwan, comfortable and lively ride quality, sporty geometry, no toe overlap issues. Not being a big name brand could be an issue for some, and I guess it could be lighter, but it's good for what it is.

The bikes are currently on sale with 30% off and have a 30 day ride and return programme.

Very tempted!

Yeah, but the complete bikes are mostly out of stock in the popular sizes.

Finally got round to finishing the build and took it out for a quick blast around some local parks and trails. It's a really fun bike to ride off-road and fits and handles exactly as I hoped it would: like a very comfortable and stable road bike. It also looks extremely modern with aero tube shapes, dropped stays and fully integrated front end.

With 40c knobbly tyres that measure out to about 41mm between lugs, there's 5mm space between the tyre and front mech so I wouldn't want to go much wider than this unless there's definitely not going to be any mud around. Acres of space at the fork and stays though, suspect 45mm limit for 1x is conservative. Looking forward to trying it with road wheels/tyres.

Parts list:
Vitus Venon Evo F&F Size M
Ultegra R8070 Di2 shifters, derailleurs and calipers

FSA NS ACR 100mm stem
3T Aeroghiaia 40cm handlebars
Vel RD 3mm bartape
Roval SLX24 Wheelset
Schwalbe G-One Ultrabite 700 x 40c tyres

Weight set up like this with single sided SPD pedals, bottle cages, computer mount and bell is 8.7kg

With a set of LightBicycle AR46 on DT240 wheels with Vittoria Corsa 28 tyres and an R8000 11-32 cassette, weight is 8.1kg

I think this probably comes down to how we're measuring. I ended up using a 5mm spacer (as well as the 10mm top cap and 5mm transition spacer) as the stack height of the stem is so low that I was worried that I'd never have the option of using any other normal stack height stem.

Measuring with the bike set up like this, I get 9cm drop to the top of the bars where the STIs are, 10.5cm to the middle of the back of the bars the way you've measured it.

Thanks for pointing out the missing part numbers. Wiggle also sent me the spares and the seatpost cover in particular does make a huge difference. Found a fairly heavy duty chainstay protector sticker in the original box too which I thought was a nice touch and have installed.

Still £1259 (€1450) in the UK where the RRP is £1799 (€2073). Makes a change from the usual "rip-off Britain" story.

@kofsw4 your bike looks great and thanks for posting the build details. Nice to see how it looks with proper gravel tyres.

Yes unfortunately so, at that price I would have bought a frameset for sure.
