Looks like neither the RCR or FCR consider having a bottle on the downtube when it comes to aerodynamics...very odd tube shapes for the modern era.
What do you mean, there are bottle cage mounts on both the seat and down tube or are there newer versions?
Tube shapes are just generic. Nothing special.

The RCR is seriously great value, Tier 1 specs (810g for Size M in Pro layup) at Tier 2 pricing

Probably that the down tube is not wide enough to cover a bottle from the air.

Waiting for these white shoes I've seen on Velofollies last winter:

They remind me of the S-Works Torch

I'm getting Canyon 10 years ago vibes from these new Van Rysel bikes, in a good way. Make good bikes and sell them cheaper than what the competition does. If they get a WT team as has been rumoured it goes even more in the same footsteps as Canyon. The RCR especially looks great and is priced to sell.

Bit disappointing that they're saying 28mm max - and it does look fairly tight.

It's like ride chinese open mold without to feel guilty...
The only good thing is the choice of Mavic wheels. It's not common for decathlon to give money to french brand.

a) it's nothing like open mold since it's clearly a one-off design

b) they use mavic, hutchinson and manitou (albeit manitou MTB are owned by Hayes now) pretty much wherever the price point will allow it.

I thought the same thing. Canyon is still often referred as a great value option, but it's nothing like it used to be. You could buy the first Aeroad built with ultegra, and with the top end frame (they didn't do a second tier) for under 3000€. Now it seems that anything slightly below Specialized prices can be considered cheap.

These new Van Rysels seem well thought out, and they look pretty decent too (it has historically been a problem that Decathlon bikes always looked cheap and no one would take them seriously). They have already made a big jump in quality with their clothes these last few years, it will be interesting to see if they can pull it off with bikes as well.

£4300 in the UK, great looking bike.
FWIW, I’m getting the grey frame version at £3600:

It looked good at £4300.
This puts it into the ridiculous category if the price holds up when available.
Great looking bike, let's hope it lives up to the promise.

And if you work for Decathlon, you get a 25% discount, which is an insane bargain.

Very odd, looks to be exactly the same for £700 cheaper? Double bargain if so.

Perhaps the VAT is removed due to EU>UK sale post-brexit. VAT to be charged on arrival to UK.

No, it's the UK retail site ...

I think they're just charging a big premium for 'prismatic' paint.
