Rumors say it will be presented at this years Tour de France, so we can expect to see some pros on it latest at the Dauphine I guess?

Tarmac SL8 confirmed for TdF launch! The one-piece bar will be launched with it, no info on if customers can select width/stem length unfortunately.

Slightly lighter, slightly more aero (one-piece bar), and still holding true to the "one bike to rule them all" idea. Basically a refined SL7 and nothing drastically changing. I'd be surprised if new wheels drop with the SL8.

More like an evolution of the SL7 instead of revolution?

does it look more lightweight focused or more aero focused?

Why do people always seem to want revolution?? Does anyone expect things to change in a way that an amateur will suddenly be able to ride with a pro (not riding that revolutionary frame)?? I don't get it. Sorry.

Ok... a revolution for me would be: are they now willing to swap seatpost setback prior to purchase? Adjust cockpit prior to purchase also? That for me would be the minimum a manufacturer has to offer in terms of adjustability. I'm not buying from wallmart or decatlhon. I'm buying very expensive, luxury product.

Because marketing departments have sold them evolutions as revolutions for years now. "See that Cyclocross frame there? We added some tyre clearance, it is the best gravel race bike ever build now."

What could be wrong with a 420mm width?

The trend is for narrower bars for aero gains - say 40 or 38cm bars. I think they ought to go down 2cm on the stock bar they send with every size so while the larger sizes now come with 44cm they should go to 42cm, the middle sizes which now come with 42cm should be 40cm, and the smaller sizes that come with 40cm to come with 38cm.

Of course since you can order a bike direct from specialized or order from a dealer you should be able to pick you bar and stem length, crankset length, chainring sizes, and casssette size, IMO.

That was my initial thought. Austrailia seems like a strange place for the first image to show up. Why would it be in Austrailia, instead of Europe where it will likely launch? It's not like they would already be distributing for retail so this really makes no sense. I would imagine the first leaks are Remco or Fabio (e.g. the one piece bar) or one of the women from SD Works (same with the one piece again).

Nobody on here said he wanted a revolution I think?
I just wanted to know if the main look of the bike would be similar to the SL7 or not. :noidea:
