I ordered an SL8 frame in viavi cynan blue. I might wait for the new Rapide wheels but will go mostly specialized on this one. Maybe SRM power meter and 9200 groupset.

Quite a few SL8s have come out from under your hands. Any comments on the front fork (off-centre wheel)? I have to admit that there are only 2-3 people raising this issue, while others do not bother or ignore it. Unacceptable for me and a bike with such a high price tag. I understand all the hype and adoration of the Specialized brand, but this is disturbing - especially to me a potential buyer.

I'm also interested in what rhino has to say about that.

I definetely have an offset on my frameset. Not sure whether it is one of the extreme cases or not. However, from what i've learned from this thread - Specialized couldn't care less about it.

At this point I'm not so sure if I should start a warranty claim or not. My deviation is like the picture attached (even though I'm not using roval wheels now). I measured it at around 1.6 mm off center with a digital caliper

I am interested in s-works gloss red sky. Does anyone knows if there is a big difference versus same frame in RTP? I assume it is 80gr

Find gloss red sky very beautiful….

I agree it's not the most attractive thing in the world, but the more definitive criterion is whether the wheel is in line with the central plane of the bike. I assume you measured the front wheel to ensure it's properly dished.

Thank you! 760gr, which it is not too bad for such a beautiful color. Are you happy with the color?

I have gloss red sky on my new Allez Sprint. It's a really nice colour, however it only really comes to life in bright sun. When it's not direct light it's much darker, almost burgundy.

Truth be told I've only seen in in closed places, haven't ridden it outside yet. Got it built this weekend and getting fitting tomorrow. Will ride it outside this weekend. I'll get used to it I guess 😃

This color was not my first choice, wanted dune white bit was not able to get it. Alternative was either this one or viavy cynan blue. I love that one but already having long-term (8y old Dogma) experience with satin color it was a no go from the start just because of this fact. How it changes color from different angles is amazing though.

Has anyone else had problems with Darimo or any other seat post slipping?

I fitted a darimo yesterday with supplied carbon paste and it just persistently slides down.

Basic dimensions are spot on.

My only observation is that the carbon paste supplied is quite greasy. Any recommendations for a better, drier paste? Or some other solution? I considered some kind of tape around the clamping area.

No slipping with my Darimo post. I am using the motorex carbon paste without issues.
