No information about new wheels either? Alpinist and Rapide were released even before the SL7. I know they were updated to be tubeless later, but usually new wheels are released with a new bike, to inflate the claims about weight and aero savings.

take it with a grain of salt, but here someone claims that on the 23rd of May a Specialized road bike gets announced: https://www.reddit.com/r/specialized/co ... 3_release/
Sounds weird to me as it's way before the TdF

I've been told May 23rd is the release date for the '23 Allez.ullmanz wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 6:40 pmtake it with a grain of salt, but here someone claims that on the 23rd of May a Specialized road bike gets announced: https://www.reddit.com/r/specialized/co ... 3_release/

Should be available soon as Incycle (who is owned by Specialized now) has a placeholder for the new '23 Allez frames. Nothing in stock of course, but these frames weren't viewable on the Incycle site a couple of weeks ago as far as I can remember.CrankAddictsRich wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 11:05 pmI've been told May 23rd is the release date for the '23 Allez.
Different than the current one or just different colors?CrankAddictsRich wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 11:05 pmI've been told May 23rd is the release date for the '23 Allez.ullmanz wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 6:40 pmtake it with a grain of salt, but here someone claims that on the 23rd of May a Specialized road bike gets announced: https://www.reddit.com/r/specialized/co ... 3_release/

Don't get your hopes up! I believe it's the release for the regular Allez disc. Maybe the allez sprint frames would get released but I'd think the new tarmac would be held until the dauphine as history suggests.spartacus wrote: ↑Sat May 20, 2023 4:06 pmDifferent than the current one or just different colors?CrankAddictsRich wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 11:05 pmI've been told May 23rd is the release date for the '23 Allez.ullmanz wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 6:40 pmtake it with a grain of salt, but here someone claims that on the 23rd of May a Specialized road bike gets announced: https://www.reddit.com/r/specialized/co ... 3_release/

Meh. What an uninspired-looking frame. They should've done a one-piece RD shifter housing Diverge-style instead of that stupid split underneath the chainstay. Also the BB area seems incredibly basic with oval chainstays. Again, look at current-gen Diverge E5 frames - they've done it better using profiled CS yoke.keno190 wrote: ↑Sat May 20, 2023 4:10 pmDon't get your hopes up! It's true, the new emonda alr is 1000x nicer looking. Better deal than the allez sprint tbh and no wonky welds.K4m1k4z3 wrote: ↑Sat May 20, 2023 4:31 pmMeh. What an uninspired-looking frame. The 2023 color ways for the Allez Sprint disc... the model was just updated last year. Officially in the US, the new colors haven't even been shown/announced yet.spartacus wrote: ↑Sat May 20, 2023 4:06 pmDifferent than the current one or just different colors?CrankAddictsRich wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 11:05 pmI've been told May 23rd is the release date for the '23 Allez.ullmanz wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 6:40 pmtake it with a grain of salt, but here someone claims that on the 23rd of May a Specialized road bike gets announced: https://www.reddit.com/r/specialized/co ... 3_release/

Yes... currently the base model Allez is shown as rim brake... those are being updated to disc and supposedly the new colorways for Sprint frame is tied to it... I've had a sprint frame on order since Jan... just waiting for them to come.keno190 wrote: ↑Sat May 20, 2023 4:10 pmDon't get your hopes up! I believe it's the release for the regular Allez disc. I agree that we won't see a new Tarmac until Dauphine/Tour de Suisse... if history tells us, 1 or 2 riders will be riding an SL8 in each of those races, testing them... they'll be painted to try and match the SL7 as best as possible, so hopefully people don't notice.... but we will.

Fit was more Roubaix, so that will be the same. This looks like they're just adding disc and making room for 35c like the Domane AL and Giant Contend.
My opinion- seems like the right move for Spec since the Sprint exists, but 5years too late with the disc option. I'd would have merged the the Diverge and Allez, but I can se how this split allows them to get performance road bike owner to buy a second, cheaper, gravel bike.
Are they selling a Tiagra group set bike for $1800? No shade on Tiagra, but this is a $1200 combo in my head. A little research says $1800 has been the case since ~2019. Seems like you used to buy the whole bike to get the group set cheap, but now you buy the cheap version of the bike and then buy group set you want.
