Installing a new set of continental GP 5000 tires and noticed the instructions include a diagram where it shows a checkmark next to an inner tube that lists " Race > 70g and a big X over a lightweight tube. Does this mean I shouldn't use lightweight tubes like tubolitos? See photo.

Ridenow and gp5000s. no issues. Supersonic tubes (<50g) before that, no issues.

I've used latex tubes in Continental GP5000's for over 10K miles (16K km).

The context for that warning, at least from the Continental tyre mounting instructions I've seen, is '...for rim brake bikes'.
Mounting Instructions
The concern behind the warning is about overheating of lightweight tubes caused by continual, prolonged braking during a descent. The linked document gives some good, and some very bad - a rim strip doesn't protect an innertube from rim sidewall heating - additional advice on reducing that risk.
I've used 'Continental Race Light' butyl tubes for 10,000km plus in a hilly area on a rim brake bike perfectly safely, so far. I'm still plucking up courage to use lighter weight tpu innertubes because of this risk. You'll find plenty of advice within the 'Ridenow tpu' thread.

It's for people who descent like a granny with rim brakes.

I used latex the last two years with one flat I believe. I'm riding with rim brakes in a hilly area, but no mountain descents. I'm use RideNow TPU currently since my latex tube valves were too short and I need to get some extenders.
