I tried to get a Rhino hanger and then a Sigeyi hanger without any luck. I wound up buying a "Cane Creek" hanger on Alibaba that seems to be identical to the Sigeyi unit aside from the name printed on it. It even has the same model number. $5.67 price is cheap so I bought 2. Fit and finish of items is as good as any other scrawny lightweight pieces I've seen. After mounting I had to gently twist it a tiny bit to zero out my RD trim, but it is dead-on now. Shifting is as crisp and precise as always. It looks good and saved some grams. If the bike ever falls over or gets banged into I'm sure it will bend out of alignment, but for 6 bucks I'm not too concerned.

I have a knockoff RD direct hanger as well. Appears it’s CNC’d and quality is as good as others. Price is right and for approx. $5, it’s a bargain and less than the SIGEYI ones, which I think was priced around $40-45.

I bought two Cane Creek SL7 direct mount hangers, initially because Sigeyi had no stock in color I wanted and then got a spare one just because they're so cheap and it's the sort of piece you wouldn't want to be without.
On a side note, ordering from Sigeyi can be a really expensive affair. Nearly 75€ for the piece between its price, crazy s/h costs and import tax on arrival. Kind of crazy.
Also tried Rhino before ordering the first one but didn't even get a reply 😅

I've had the "Mixed" brand hanger that's been good. Less than $20 and great quality.

Does anyone have both pieces in-hand to compare? Is the Rhino piece actually structurally stronger? I would have gone that route if they had been available when I needed a replacement.

I’m not even sure that a SIGEYI hanger is made by SIGEYI. In fact the direct mount RD hanger I got had an odd name to them and didn’t look like the SIGEYI. The Chinese are knocking off other Chinese brands? Maybe. Although I think that’s there’s one place that is CNC’ing the hangers and branding it with whatever name they think will sell. Cane Creek doesn’t even make hangers and neither does Redshift (also branded hangers). They use their logos for brand recognition. Pretty scrappy that they do this, I know.

SIGEYI only sell direct mount hanger with SIGEYI brand. All the other direct mount hangers with the same looking but in other brand on Aliexpress are copy of the SIGEYI design. If you put an latest version SIGEYI hanger together with the others, you will find lots of different details.

Now you just have to find the one you want available for sale, which admittedly is a different matter altogether.

I also have a "Cane Creek" hanger for my Tarmac. The machining quality looks good, I haven't fitted it yet to see how it performs. I would have preferred it to be either unbranded or have its own brand but the price was good and it was available.

I'm still curious what the key differentiators are that make the Rhino piece worth the 17x price premium.

Weight? Strength? Better material? There has to be something, right?

According to himself, lighter (a g or so), and "better designed".

17x price? Lol. What is he charging? Give me the $10 AliE every day for a part that is designed to be replaced.
