Definitely a nice gravel setup, but I do wonder about the performance of the regular Red medium cage rd on cassettes with cogs bigger than 32. I know it can be done, but any time I have tried to push rear derailleurs beyond the recommend largest cog, I end up with some spot on the cassette that hesitates to shift, or a ticking noise in certain gears. I can tune it out of one spot, but it will reappear in another. Have you had perfect operation with a 34 tooth cassette? I will however give a strong vote for the Sram mtb rear derailleurs. I have one Red 22 setup with 11-36 and a XX long cage rd. Flawless shifting and still very light. Now impossible to find, but lower level compatible Sram mtb rd's are still around.

Yes do agree with you. It would be the lightest option for gravel to go with
Xx1 11speed mtb der (240) with pulley replaced (10g off)
Ratio cable fin
Sram red 22 hydro shifter
12 cassette

It's a safe bet.
Juin Tech GT-F is where it's at, they're almost as good as a proper hydraulic set up but 150-200g lighter.
These are better than TRP HY/RD or Origin-8?

Luckily for me, Pilo makes a slightly longer RD hanger for my bikes and a WiFli RD would have no issue with a 10-33t or 11-34t.

Never used the Origin-8 brakes but definitely more modulation and stopping power than a HY/RD. They also look a lot better and are lighter.

Huh? Is it that good?
My Juin Tech F1 is a bit underwhelming vs my Ultegra Di2 hydraulic on another bike.
So I'm wondering about upgrading it to either proper hydraulic, or Juintech GT-F.
I'd say it depends. I've got my GT-F's set up on an externally routed bike with compressionless housing. No tight bends anywhere to affect performance.

On an internally routed bike I'd be tempted to go for the full hydraulic set up if cost isn't an issue.

Juin tech F1 are 2 pots, the GT are 4 pots so with more pistons and braking surface they will do better

But if your Red BB30 crank is installed in a BB30 frame, than all your bb consists of just two cartridge bearings and dust covers - a crank/BB combo that is tough to beat. Use ceramic bearings and it's even lighter.

Put 12sp rings on it and then its 12sp. The 1mm chain line difference makes no difference at all.

Anyone know of a creative way to get a mineral oil hydraulic lever working with a 12 speed rear derailleur? I'm flexible with component spec (beggars can't be choosers), but ideal setup would be Dura Ace levers with a XTR or Eagle rear derailleur.

Pretty sure ratio tech has a shimano 12s mechanical conversion kit. It's not on their site but they'll sell it if you contact them directly. Someone here already did the conversion and said it works well.

The upcoming Sensah hydraulic brifters should work with SRAM Road 11/10s & MTB 10s RDs assuming the pull ratios are unchanged from Rim brake Empire Pro

L-TWOO RX & GRT 12s hydraulic brifters work with Shimano Road 11s & Tiagra 4700 10s RDs

of course, neither option would work as flawlessly as the upcoming 105 & GRX mechanical 12s
