Another bike launch with 420 mm wide bars as standard in size M  Just maybe, if only the bars could be swapped, that's cheaper than swap the integrated cockpits of many competitors.

From the quoted frame weights for size S, there's nothing lightweight actually.

Geometry is a few mm longer than many others for equivalent letter sizes.

Pricing isn't stratospheric (relatively speaking).

I like the red-black colour.
You see price of the new Blade?
No prices either frameset or complete bike. Just components or such but not the new Blade.
How much does it cost?
Bikes:

Ax Lightness Vial EVO Race (2019.01.03)
Open *UP* (2016.04.14)
Paduano Racing Fidia (kind of shelved)

Ex bike; Vial EVO D, Vial EVO Ultra, Scott Foil, Paduano ti bike.

..uhmm...maybe here?

https://795bladers.lookcycle.com/en

8,5k euro for an Ultegra and heavy Corima wheels version...unless it scores low 200s W in a windtunnel it's a rather 'thanks but no thanks'

also it's a pity there's no mondrian theme paintjob, although there are pictures of one on some sites :noidea:

Frame only (size s): 890g | frame + fork (size s): 1315g

from: https://www.lookcycle.com/uk-en/product ... 3-frameset
That is 250 grams lighter than the old one (frame, fork and headset). Seems about right they advertise a complete bike at 7kg since mine is 7.2kg (with not too much exquisite parts).

Frameset price is strong.... Luckely I don't like the new frame so I'm not tempted at all.

Previous frame was neither very fast in the wind tunnel nor super stiff on the lab. If newest outperforms a SL7, then price is aligned with competition…

Doubt that would have mattered much to most Look customers, who are primarily buying the 'Euro coolness' of the brand. All the aero performance and stiffness orientated buyers would have opted for a SL7/S5/SystemSix anyway, which are more research led brands.

I guess the low price of the previous Look frames just shows that brand image can only get you so far and the real money is spent by the guys who value ultimate performance (whatever that is).

Last gen 795 Blade RS could also accomodate mechanical groupsets so potentially have a lower build cost than SL7 /S5 / System6

Image

Transmission / Headset /Lat.fork / Seatpost stiffness / seatpost deflection
SL7: 58/97/53/156 /6.41
S5: 67/108/52/291 / 3.44
System6: ?
795BladeRS: 69/ 99/ 57 /297 / 3.37

Seems on par with stiffness.

Aero at 219W whereas the others would have come in lower.

The SL7 is the goldilocks option for electronic gruppos

Handlebar failure on Bryan Coquard's new 795 Blade RS - hopefully Look are examining the failure and it's not a design fault:

Seems to be near the recessed edge of the handlebar aero-cover:

Any handlebar design that can't be mounted on a standard stem is a design failure.

Does anyone know of stockists for bars for the new 2023 795 Blade RS?

There's very little informaiton available on them, in terms of detailed measurement/diagram. I did see the document link above (thanks for sharing).

Again, so annoying that a medium bike is being supplied with 42cm bars (asuming it's 42cm c-c at the hoods).

It's like steering a bloody bus!

550 euros before VAT for a bar (no stem) that's compatible with exactly one stem that fits exactly one bike ... they really are going for the big spenders this time round.

It's expensive, no doubt. Unfortunately Anjoy Cycle seem to be the only online retailer currently selling the new stems and bars, which limits your options.

I wish bike manufacturers would allow buyers to specify the stem length & bar width when buying a frameset.

As an aside, the reason Anjoy Cycle may have stock of the new stems & bars is because the new Look 795 Blade RS framesets they sell on their website do not include a bar & stem, which should come standard when you buy a 795 frameset (and they don't appear to be discounting the frameset to account for the lack of stem & bar). So I wonder if they are getting all the stems & bars from Look w/ the framesets, removing them, then selling them separately to customers ? Seems a little dodgy
