Well if this is the new supersix without that ugly duck cockpit I'm in. Bring on some leichtbau version and I'm sure I will get it.
That was the major reason for not getting it. The cockpit looked horrendous and was porky. Just fitting other bars looked so off

They would need to bring me more than just a cockpit, the Evo3 road behaviour is just not to the level I would expect compared to the Tarmac for example (not to mention the sl6 or the evo2). Still cross fingers, the evo2 was a significant step change compared to the evo1 and from bad pictures, you couldn’t see much differences too.wickedstealthy wrote:Well if this is the new supersix without that ugly duck cockpit I'm in. Never ridden a Specialised and it's a bike that doesnt suit me from a geometry point of view.C36 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 10:55 pmThey would need to bring me more than just a cockpit, the Evo3 road behaviour is just not to the level I would expect compared to the Tarmac for example (not to mention the sl6 or the evo2). So not sure what I would expect from it. Except ifx they go to a Specs geometry (very long reach) I need to pass as this will never fit me properly without having to choose a small frame with spacers

Another clip of the new bike in action. This time under Amador.

I'd guess they'll keep it around, like BMC have the TimeMachine, until finally it gets replaced after 8 years (probably SystemSix), or 7 years (probably next year for TimeMachine).
There's definitely been a hole left in the market by the sales disaster that appears to be the new Madone. All the dealers I've seen are struggling to shift any - whereas they still can't get enough of the Gen 6. And if Trek stick to their plan, Gen 6 SLR is gone next year, and Gen 6 SL the one after.
The new one is so ferociously ugly, doesn't have the comfort of the old one, the glory hole is widely seen as a bad joke even by the kool-aid drinkers, and it's even more expensive.
The Gen 5/6 made up a huge chunk of the full on aero bike market. That's dwindling now with limited production, and will likely be gone entirely within 18-24 months. I'd be surprised if the Gen 7 sells even a quarter of the Gen 5/6 over its lifetime. Indeed, if sales are as bad as they seem to be, it might not last too long.
Really obvious how much they dropped the seatstays in that vid. It looks like they intersect right where the flattened portion of the seattube ends and the aero part starts. Promises a compliant rear end; should ride great. Liking what I'm seeing so far...bikeandbrew wrote: ↑Fri Dec 23, 2022 5:55 pmAnother clip of the new bike in action. This time under Amador.

Where are you based? I asked in both Swiss and France and none could give me availability. The feedback I had from WT rider was quite positive especially compared to previous gen.RDY wrote:I'd guess they'll keep it around, like BMC have the TimeMachine, until finally it gets replaced after 8 years (probably SystemSix), or 7 years (probably next year for TimeMachine).

The only limitation with the Madone gen 7 here is availability. Only now is it starting to become available in US warehouses and they are all allocated. The IsoHole's problem is it sprays ST mounted water bottles with muck. Other than that it seems like any other bike. My issue with it is the limited cockpit options since they've gone back to the one-piece barstem. It ONLY comes in -7deg and there's no way to get the 37/40cm bars mated to anything longer than a 100mm stem.
That's why I've gone with the Domane RSL personally. The regular Domane gen 4 is flying off the shelves in the US.

You seem well versed in Trek. Do you know if Emondas bar stem is a 100mm reach version and is it also updated for 2023?TobinHatesYou wrote: ↑Sat Dec 24, 2022 3:40 amThe only limitation with the Madone gen 7 here is availability. The Aeolus RSL barstem had 100mm reach before the recall. Whether the replacement is just a beefed up version of the old or completely new, I haven't gotten a trustworthy answer.
I think it's already confirmed in the recall thread that it's identical and just slightly beefed up in the problematic areaTobinHatesYou wrote: ↑Sat Dec 24, 2022 3:01 pmwheelsONfire wrote: ↑Sat Dec 24, 2022 1:47 pm

Was there a point to the Leichtbau other than its paint being stripped?wickedstealthy wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 5:47 pmWell if this is the new supersix without that ugly duck cockpit I'm in. Bring on some leichtbau version and I'm sure I will get it.
