Cannondale SuperSix Evo4

But a -20° or even some -17° stem looks shit with a sloped top tube...And with the all the proprietary parts, it becomes more and more difficult to lower and lengthen the cockpit. OEM stems are only available in one angle or max 120cm length. Integrated bar-stems are often short too or stupidly wide with longer stems.
The market offers bikes for all kind of purposes and fits. Never has there been more to choose from. But when you actually want a race bike with agressive fit, options become more limited every year. Sucks.

Yikes re: the pricing. I guess that's going to be €15k in Europe. So greedy they couldn't even spec DT180s (rather than 240s) on the wheels.koelio wrote: ↑Mon Jan 30, 2023 6:13 pmfrom Google cache you can still see some pictures and specs of the SS evo 4 (from bikeasylum).

Who else noticed the Cannondale aero bottle cages and bottles in the spec list? If they're functional I'd actually be pretty interested in using them.koelio wrote: ↑Mon Jan 30, 2023 6:13 pmfrom Google cache you can still see some pictures and specs of the SS evo 4 (from bikeasylum).

The bottles do sound interesting. But man, $17800 CAD for the hi mod with AXS is pretty brutal. Up from $16000 on the current model. And $19300 for the lab71 is honestly absurd. I get that it's a halo product, but it's still probably the highest price point I've seen from the big manufacturers.Jackofallgrades wrote: ↑Tue Jan 31, 2023 10:36 pmWho else noticed the Cannondale aero bottle cages and bottles in the spec list? I think it's been clear for a few years now that unless one has access to deep discount or special pricing, it makes zero sense to buy a complete top end bike at or near retail prices. Frameset + groupset + wheels bought separately and assembled are always going to be (sometimes dramatically) cheaper and they can be tailor made (e.g. narrower handlebars, favourite saddle, wheels and tyres).Bfriesen wrote: ↑Wed Feb 01, 2023 8:18 amThe bottles do sound interesting. Yeah it really makes no sense. Just as an example, here's a basic build of the top end cannondale frameset currently available for $16300(all CAD pricing). A full $3000 less than the lab71 bike. Of course you still need tires and your contact points and I'm sure the new frameset will be more expensive, but you could buy literally anything you want and come in well under $3000. And honestly who buys things at full retail, especially groupsets and wheels.robeambro wrote: ↑Wed Feb 01, 2023 10:19 amI think it's been clear for a few years now that unless one has access to deep discount or special pricing, it makes zero sense to buy a complete top end bike at or near retail prices. DA DI2 $5,750.00, Leichtbau LTD Frameset $6,750, ENVE SES 3.4, $3800
So is this just brands realizing that the customers who actually buy these things are either doing so at a huge discount, or just don't care about price at all?

Well buy the frame and that will be in line with Spec etc and the rest can be sourced elsewhere. I saved more or less 3k purely buying the V3rs frame and getting stuff elsewhere
At this stage most large brands just seem to be taking the p*ss with their pricing, which was exacerbated by the increased demand during the Covid pandemic. Hopefully we'll get some more balance into the market later this year when demand flattens or even decreases slightly.
The only brand who still offers some value for money for complete bikes is Canyon
