Totally agree, for some reason this proto-bike intrigues me much more than most.

None of the 12 speed bikes on Cannondale's current PF30a frames are specced with Cannondale cranks, so I'm going to go with probably not.raisinberry777 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 9:10 amDoes this mean new Cannondale cranks that work with BSA?
I have some mixed feelings after looking at it.
What I like:
1. aero tweaks in the back of the bike
2. BSA
3. no more stopping pin in headtube
4. same geometry
5. new derailleur hanger - the previous one was outrageously stupid!!!
What I don't like:
1. Aero tweaks in the front of the bike. I don't know how a fork straight from the SSE SE and such a big gap to the downtube can be aero?
2. the new expander and those extra shims. Looks overkill and heavy.
3. use of Syntace axles.
4. bizarre Di2 battery mount in downtube.
5. the same problematic internal seatbinder.
Surely there is no way that despite the use of this special carbon blend called "lab71", the frame is lighter than the previous one. Not with these profiles, BSA, DI2 battery mounting etc.
I assume that most of the savings will come from the new handlebars (SystemBar R-One) and all the marketing will be based on that.

I don't see the manual on the Cannondale website, has it been taken down? Do you have a link/copy? Thanks
Yes, bearings are external on BSA so not as limited in size as with other narrow diameter bores like BB86 where the bearings are internal. I've been running DUB (28.99 mm) in BSA on a wet/winter bike and I am impressed by how smoothly it still runs. BSA cups for 30 mm spindles are widely available from a number of manufacturers.
At least they have 2 fork rakes depending on the size! Few brands should copy!
On the sad note, hollowgram crankset seem gone.
Edit: will we have a marketing claim that delta spacers save 3w if you run 1cm or more of them?

Colors seem not shocking. Geometry didn't change so for me cool.

Hmmm, perhaps the beginning of the end for Cannondale cranks on the road then. It's telling that they're not on any of the Topstone or Synapses that use BSA bottom brackets. Seems like Shim/SRAM are quite adamant on full groupsets on their 12 speed bikes, and then anything below that that isn't using a matching crank with BSA seems to use FSA or Prowheel cranks.Karvalo wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 1:23 pmNone of the 12 speed bikes on Cannondale's current PF30a frames are specced with Cannondale cranks, so I'm going to go with probably not.raisinberry777 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 9:10 amDoes this mean new Cannondale cranks that work with BSA?

IIRC the axle on a Hollowgram crankset won't be long enough for a BSA bike.
Cannondale seem to have quietly phased out their own cranksets which is a shame as I'm a fan of Hollowgram ones.
