Wait a few years and buy Red AXS for US$1600 or Force AXS for US$1000 like I did. No reason to live on the cutting edge right now when the old stuff is just fine.
I swapped from Etap RED to AXS Red.. when everyone was going nuts for Etap.. Basically even swap and my Moots is happy. I can also use the force 10-36 with the normal AXS RD
2024 BMC TeamMachine R Building
2018 BMC TImeMachine Road
2002 Moots Compact-SL- getting aero look makeover
2019 Parlee Z0XD - "classified"
2023 Pivot E-Vault - completed project, full Xplr package

Does anyone have an idea when this will actually be released?

Fully agree. Quite often just before the release of the new generation there are nice discounts available for the old generation parts.

At the moment the Force AXS 2x12 upgrade set can be found for 850€ and the 1x12 for less than 700€.

I wonder if new Sram FD (forthcoming) will have a totally new design or JAW.
Also wonder if it'll ever come a really good aftermarket 12 speed 11-** cassette :noidea:

it will interesting at the OEM level what will happend. a lot of shops are receiving 2022/2023 bikes with soon to be obsolete axs force/red . if sram lauches the next gen axs in jan/feb a lot of inventory will need be discounted.

Yeah this I don't get - all the promo photos have already been taken, the 2023 models are up on the websites? Maybe it's geared more towards a summer launch?

You're right, but as it is these days, it's probably available (for real) long time after summer 2023.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Availability for most bike stuff is better now than it's been in years. Plus unlike Shimano, SRAM have a good record of hard launching products. Red, Force and Rival AXS were actually available almost immediately after launch.

I was told beginning of March so that mostly lines up with what you heard.

They'll offer special and more expensive launch editions with the new components, like they've done before.
I've seen the new Force stuff but nothing really exciting in my opinion.

Smaller and lighter without the pad clearance adjustment screw and the satelite switch ports?
