You mean in between the 2 bolts clamping the pivot ?
I am not seeing where the problem is, not one bit… I even think I do prefer over too bulky stems

I think that looks fine (soooo much better than the previous model's stem, even though that's a logical fallacy). Might be a bit worried that grit could get in from wet racing, but I reckon that's really looking for something to worry about.

He has a faux insert to sell, so is taking the opportunity to highlight the stem in giant threads.

The stem clamp and steerer aren't sliding against each other, so grit/contamination is not an issue. The only possible issue would be from a direct impact to the exposed area and that's pretty unlikely.

I'm really close to buying a propel. Available are the Advanced 1 and 2 models and my idea was to get the cheapest. After selling the wheels and 105 groupset, the 2 would make a really attractive frameset.
But i just now noticed that the Advanced 1 and 2 model are not the same frameset as the Advanced Pro like i initially thought. The Pro has the SL fork, the other two don't.
I wouldn't care if its only a small weight difference, but i wonder if its also maybe less stiff and changes the feel of the bike?!

What's the differences with the fork?
I know in previous years the Advance had an aluminium steerer and used a traditional 1 1/8th headset and the Pro and S.L. had full carbon fork and OD2 steerer.
I didn't realise there was a difference in forks again for the 2023 model...

ETA: Actually, I don't think I even realised there was an Advanced frameset this year... just Advanced Pro and Advanced Pro S.L.

When is this thing being released in the UK?
I was in my LBS earlier, Giant are supposedly updating the UK website over the New Year with details on builds/prices etc., but with regards to when we can expect them... still a bit vague, although Feb had been mentioned previously.
Well, the website update for the UK hasn't happened! Anyone got any inside knowledge on what's going on with the UK market?

 Wow, enjoy your 2024 Propel!
I was hoping to see mine arrive in the next couple of months, tops... I figured it would be a forgone conclusion that I'd be able to take it to Mallorca with me in May, but perhaps not!
