Off course its a individual thing. Still funny though that they come out with a new helmet on the day of the most prominent time trial so far this year and the two best placed riders are using the older equipment.
Just catching up on the TT and gotta agree, doesn't look good for Specialized when all the talk about the new helmet is focused on the weird look, then the winner of the stage is using the old helmet.

Can't say I'm a fan of the new Evade or Prevail either. Kind of a miss all around.

Not 100% related, but I took it upon myself to properly test the Prevail 2 Vent yesterday, when descending Pico Veleta.
I hit the deck at almost 70kph. Besides a few torn ligaments on my collarbone and a good square foot of epidermis, my helmet is pretty bent out of shape.
It absorbed the crash brilliantly, and left no marks anywhere, with me not even having a concussion, dispite rolling over my head several times.

I guess my next helmet will be another specialized!

Oh damn, not that we dont appreciate your accidental test, but do get well soon and glad to hear you are fine with no broken bones! That could have been worse. Get well soon.

Took the Prevail 3 out today and enjoyed it. The different fit was more comfortable to me and felt more secure than with the 2. Increased weight was a little noticeable but did not negatively impact my comfort. I have no idea if my head was cooler with the 3 vs the 2, no perceptible difference on this ride. I guess my overall thoughts are this is a small upgrade vs the Prevail 2 and not worth spending the money unless you like the aesthetics.

Does anyone have information on the "round fit" Evade 3 & Prevail 3? My local dealer is saying there are no options to order via their system.

I didn’t even know this was an option. How were you doing this in the past? Are you in the US?

Glad you're ok. I got a concussion from descending a tiny like 20 meter hill on XC skies, without a helmet. So it's pretty amazing how good the protection on helmets must be. After that incident I started wearing a cycling helmet when XC skiing.🙂

As far as I know, it's listed on their website in specific countries (Speciaized called it the Asian market), but I don't think you can order it and deliver it elsewhere. Maybe find somebody on eBay selling them or with access?

I contacted Specialized and was told the round fit option is not available in the US. I am waiting for the response on which countries they are available.

I am in the US. On the US site in the fit chart, it shows both Regular and Round headforms Image

@Cat4forlife I guess people from the US don't have different headshapes? :? What a ridiculous move if that's the case
