Email Cervelo supportSteve Curtis wrote: ↑Sat Nov 05, 2022 4:15 pmHi all. I'm looking for some help with a pretty simple question.
Im trying to compare a 2016 S3 to the figment of a 2020 S5.
The S3 has no bearing cap but has a 20mm conical spacer - so probably 12-15mm of actual stack increase.
When looking at the S5 do I need to add the stack of the stem to the frame stack ? Or is this already included.
I'm guessing I'd need to add 20-25mm of spacers on the S5 to get the same stack.
I use a 120-7 stem on the S3 so would probably go with a 110 on an S5

Posting here was a last resort, given Cervelo support haven't responded and I need to let the guy know if I'm buying it today.
I thought as everyone on this thread is buying one, someone would kindly confirm if the stem is included in the stack.
Clearly I was mistaken. Oh well

I don't know what you mean is the stem included in the stackSteve Curtis wrote: ↑Sun Nov 06, 2022 10:30 amPosting here was a last resort, given Cervelo support haven't responded and I need to let the guy know if I'm buying it today.

Anyway, the S5 stack and reach chart mimics a conventional bike with that stated stack plus a 5mm bearing cap. The stem mimics a -6 with a normal stack of 40mm or so. This has all been discussed at length in this thread already.

Good evening, what is your height and saddle height please ? Thank you in advance, best regards.mr.wulf wrote: ↑Sat Jun 25, 2022 11:29 amI am an happy owner of an current S5 in size 56 with Ultegra Di2 (11-speed not the latest 12-speed). Only wheight weenie parts on it are: Tune KommVor saddle, a DuraAce crankset and maybe my Lightbicycle AR56 wheels (DT240 hubs) with 1.432g with GP5000 25c and 28c / Tubolito SRoad tubes.
Wheight complete ready to ride are 7,75 kg which is totally fair for the Ultegra Di2 Build.
With the older DT ARC1400 wheels, which had inner rim width of 17mm, the ride was a bit harsher.
But now with the AR56 wheels (23mm inner width/30mm outer width) the S5 paired with Conti 25 front and 28 rear is really silky smooth for the all and all out Aero bike. Despite the rear 28 Conti blows up to 30mm there is still at every point at least 4-5mm space left. And wider tires then 28/30mm on an Aero bike might be a bit strange.
So if you are looking to improve the comfort without loosing the Aero ability of the S5 plan to get a nice set of wheels with modern inner width (22mm upwards).
Keeping the speed at 35 km/h avrg. is really easier then on my older 2015 Cervelo S3…so I felt the advantages immediately.

Hi all,
Picked up my new S5, 54cm in Sapphire Ice, with ultegra 12 speed di2. Replaces my well worn 2016 S5. Will hit up some pics when I get some actual daylight, which in Scotland, in winter, may be a while. Need some sunshine to do this paintwork some justice.
Just to say, weighed the bike totally as stock (tyres set up tubeless) and comes in at 7.89kg. Probably 100g lighter than I was expecting.
No big plans to reduce weight massively to be honest, I think this bike is what it is. But have switched the rear rotor to a 140mm, saving 38g including the spacer and bolts. May change the saddle to take off another 100g or so. Will get it close to 8kg ready to roll which would be fine by me.
Cheers

Has anyone used one of the bolt on standard stem adapters? I assume it still works with the '23 model.
Friend has a 56 frameset on order and is now panicking that he can't get enough stack or reach (having misunderstood geo).
To me it looks so dodgy, having a mini dildo bolted on potentially with spacers on top or below (I didn't gather which side they go) on to the front end with vertical bolts.
Is this thing actually safe? Don't think he'll lose much if any aero by going with different stem and bar. But it looks like such a hack to me.

Where did your friend find the frameset? I am also looking for a 56 sapphire ice, 2023 model. Thanks a lot.RDY wrote: ↑Sat Dec 17, 2022 11:27 amHas anyone used one of the bolt on standard stem adapters? I assume it still works with the '23 model.

Not sure. He had previously talked about collecting it in the US. Think he's getting black.George46GR wrote: ↑Sat Dec 17, 2022 7:26 pmWhere did your friend find the frameset? I have one, unused, taken from S5D 2019, in the EU, PM if interested.George46GR wrote: ↑Sat Dec 17, 2022 7:25 pmGood evening, I am looking for a 100 long stem for a 2020 Cervelo S5. Could you please provide some help ? I am loacated in Europe. Thank you very much in advance.

I just got my new 2022 Cervelo S5. It's the SRAM Red AXS model (58cm) and started at around 17lbs 11 oz stock.
Did the following upgrades:
Caden "DeCadenCe" 81mm Tubular wheelset (1354 grams) saved 420 grams from stock wheels
Selle Italia Boost Carbon saddle (124 grams) saved 35 grams from stock saddle
Hylix Seatpost (141 grams) saved 112 grams from stock post
NoW8 160mm Rotors (88 grams each) saved 108 grams total from stock rotors
Other components:
Time Expresso Titan pedals (176 grams a pair)
Tufo S3 elite 25mm Tubulars (264 grams each)
SupahCaz carbon cage (32 grams)
Current weight, with pedals and cage is: 16lbs 3oz (7.33kg).
That's about as light as I can reasonably get it without getting carried away with ti bolts and such. It's too bad the bar is so chunky. 282 grams seems pretty hefty, but there's no other options to go with (for now).
