Gran Fondo cycling reviewed it and apparently their stock bike is 7,50kg with Ultegra 8100 (no pedals, cages, mount).
James bike @ Cyclingtips size L was 8.03kg Ultegra Di2 without pedals. I'd tend to believe this number more.
Ronan's bike - so a couple sizes bigger (I guess) than if it had been James'.

So for the S5 the steerer tube is the front of the fork, acting as a sort of fairing over the headtube?

Yeah it's a bayonet fork. A lot of TT bikes have used a similar system over the years, and a few road bikes.

New frame is 65 grams drag less than previous S5. That's pretty significant.

The new Reserve wheels are supposedly 50-54 grams faster than the previous.

It's not clear if the 65 grams includes the wheels or not, I've seen a couple of articles stating that it does, in which case, the frame is just a bit faster than previous, like 1.5 Watts, lol

Bikeradar said the 65gr equates to 8w from which 5w are from the wheels

Yes, I think Gran Fondo always just list the manufacturer's quoted weight rather than weighing it themselves.

Such a useless publication lol

I’m really hoping they moved to threaded bbright. No info yet.

Not backwards compatible. Not sure why you would want forwards compatibility

They're not a useless publication, they regularly have the best pictures. Their text content is completely useless though.

According to this

https://youtu.be/Ayg1MqBUEDc

Frame is 980 grams and fork is about 400 grams

I wonder if the painted versions are much heavier. 980 for assumed 56cm is not terrible, but my BMC TM01R came in at 1kg+ for size 47.. so I'm weary.

Has to be, probably about 100 grams. I would assume the matte black version is the lightest.

The press articles state that the potential damage to the head tube is not present anymore, so it looks like they've moved away from the internal fork turning limit stop. Have they indeed?
What articles have said that? I am also wondering this as it is the only thing that was holding me back from buying the previous generation.
