Just had an email in the UK with the K2 down to £235

I absolutely love mine, and will be in for the 3 when it's announced.

Might have spoken too soon

Hammerhead have just updated the in-ride look/UI on the K2 and it's *f##k* awful. I have NO idea what on Earth they're thinking.

Their UI must be designed by someone with no idea how to build user interfaces. I still cannot stand the colors on the Climber, especially that there are open source palettes designed specifically for such purposes.

Haven't seen the new UI - surprised Lama or someone doesn't have a review up yet. But it seemed like the whole UX suffered from good ideas badly implemented with no coherent overall design guide (and probably inexperienced designers).

SRAM app stuff is generally very good, but I don't think there have been (m)any personnel changes yet at HH. It might not improve much in that respect until new people are brought in. But you would have to imagine that the presumably imminent K3 (assuming inventory of K2 isn't enormous) will have had heavy SRAM HQ involvement.

The biggest concern for me for the K3 and competition in this space is that they update the Android version to a recent one. Android 8 is doing them no favors at all.

Old vs new. It also looks even worse in dark mode.

They really doubled down on the right side alignment - which already looked awful. Fonts look like placeholders ...

It's a mess.

No centralising, no padding, field text about as big as the data you actually care about, background that jars. Dreadful. It's like a designer lost a bet.

It baffles me they could get something so wrong.

That’s also just a terrible font for so much text in a small space

That's seriously a step down in terms of readability. At first I thought it was tied to a new GUI being developed for the K3 but there's no reason for them to push that build of the GUI to the K2.

Not sure what is going to be honest.

I think that the main pb is the designers don't ride ...
They don't realize we need big figures and easy readability when pushing hard

Rode mine yesterday. Sure, its not as good as it was, but it isn't unclear and the framing is just something my eye didn't see on the road. In no way a reason not to purchase in my opinion, although I do hope they offer the option to go back to the previous font size.
