105 2x12 - R7170 (R7150) / R7120 (R7100) - di2 / mechanical (MY2024)

Speaking of badly machined hubs and freehub bodies, I once had this particular issue (see the attached video) on a MTB rear wheel. This kind of thing will affect shifting quality. And on a 12-speed system any kind of out-of-tolerance issue will be magnified as compared to 11-speed systems. This is not to say that Shimano doesn't make defective products. My defective MTB rear wheel was replaced by the manufacturer. They upgraded the wheel to a higher-end model, probably because they knew that all of the same wheels they had in inventory were defective!

Review against the Rival AXS. Really would have thought that the 105 would be faster (ok they did not really compare the F'D ). I would go for Ultegra. The 105 got too many compromises.

My guess is Shimano was trying to protect sales of Ultegra as if they had made it the same but heavier, it might have really erroded into the sales of their higher end groupsets. Weight doesn't seem to be as important as it was just a few years ago.

Holy cr*p. That's insane... (unfortunately it also aligns with one Euro store in Holland which said ETA is September 2023).ultimobici wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 7:56 amI wouldn't put money on it. Remember the first batches will go to OEM not retail. Current ETA for retail in the UK is September 2023!
I can only surmise what this means for availability of any new GRX groupset.

I would not be surprised if they are diverting the first 11-36 cassettes to OEM GRX.
