This looks like a warranty case. It’s not your fault. It’s best to stick to the same chainring for best shifting performance. Contact Litespeed and they should be able to issue a warranty claim for you.

Do we know this for sure? While I understand the question may irritate some, it's a legit one, after all. Ultegra (Di2) still has a rim brake version

You think thousands of us are going to abandon bespoke Ti, Stainless and high end steel/alloy frames because the industry says so? Poke it.
The reason I ask about rim is because if not I will buy Chorus. I would actually prefer Chorus but sheep world has Shimano everywhere, so spares when travelling etc.
Ultegra Di2 has rim so as above a legitimate question. That and I'm 100kg rugby type build and one 45mph decent, discs get too hot, squeal and don't work. Peak Torque is 10kg lighter than me and he Fries 180mm disc conversion.
Also, don't be so bloody rude behind your keyboard.

I suspect Shimano’s sales figures support only offering rim brake options on Dura Ace and Ultegra. 105 is not really where rim brake afficandos lurk.

Yes, in Di2 12 there are levers for rim brakes....but it seems to me that there Shimano has "acted" in bad faith by not making the road 11 ones and the TRI/TT ones compatible :noidea:

I'm not saying that at a high level (DA, UL) or medium (105) but in Non series? For those who want to keep their bike with rim brakes and switch to 12, adapting a lever from 11 to 12 would not be expensive having the 105 and mechanical GRX in 12......

understanding clearly, that Shimano is a company and its purpose is to make money

11 speed 105 levers are still current as far as I can see, as are mechs, cassettes & chains.

Shimano could repurpose the 7000 series STI levers as they effectively did with Dura Ace & Ultegra but the returns would be slim.

We will have to wait if some "handyman" decides to try to put in an 11-speed lever, the 12-speed mechanism......dreaming is free.... :D :D :D

Ps; but if they wanted to get "returns" by taking the ST-R8050/R9150, change the rubber on the handrest, highlight the electronics and continue with a high price for something that should have been more than amortized, when in the patents seen, there were rim brake levers of the same design as the hydraulic ones......that detail did not seem serious........

Does anyone know if the levers are the same huge width/long reach as the previous generation mechanical?

Or are they more inline with the new di2 levers

I currently have the last generation mechanical levers and for me they are just too wide and too long. I was thinking of going di2 to solve this but if mechanical has the same benefits I'm in

Spends 4k on custom frame. Wants to fit bland 105 groupset. Image

You need some bling on your bike. Super Record mechanical should do the trick.
