Had my first ride on the Ridenow 36g tubes, on new wheels and new Conti GP5k 28mm tires.
No loss in pressure on the ride, and at the end of the ride i accidentally hit a horrible section of deep potholes coming around a turn. Just hit them straight on, barely had time to brake. To my surprise, neither tire flatted and they still have full pressure this morning

Are people really desperate enough for the small weight savings of the 19g tube, even if it means much thinner and potentially dangerous? Couldn't be happier with my 36g tubes but I get anxious thinking of this weight saving race at all costs people seem to be willing to gamble on for such a critical component
IMO the only valid use for these is in TTs, where you'll potentially also get a hair's amount of rolling resistance gain.maurice1 wrote: ↑Sun May 07, 2023 6:01 pmAre people really desperate enough for the small weight savings of the 19g tube, even if it means much thinner and potentially dangerous? Thank you. I'll stick to the 36 gram version for my rim brake wheels instead of risking it with the 24g version.Steve Curtis wrote: ↑Sat May 06, 2023 8:25 pmSame material, just less of it.
The diameter of the cross section of the tube has been reduced.

Since they have non-removable cores now do you guys think i could get away with a 60mm/65mm valves on 50 mm deep rims?

Well there is no 70 mm version so i'll take the bullet with a couple of 60 mm
I use the 65mm version for my Lightbicycle AR56s which works perfectly fine but there is not a whole lot of margain. It probably depends on the depth of the centre channel and the way the pump sits so I wouldn't take this as the be-all and end-all.CringeKing wrote: ↑Mon May 08, 2023 10:17 pmSince they have non-removable cores now do you guys think i could get away with a 60mm/65mm valves on 50 mm deep rims?
I think it is meant to go over the valve hole but I have never used it myself. Maybe it prevents the valve from rattling but I would assume it is more for advertising.

45mm rims with 65mm Ridenow tubes
45mm valve of the 24g ridenow on 45mm rim (21mm int width). Plenty for screw-on pump head.

I've been using Park Tool GP-2C patches to patch my Ridenow tubes and they've worked well, air loss is the same as an unpatched tube.
I note that Schwalbe advised using them for their Aerothan tubes hence why I thought I'd try them with the Ridenow tubes.
