Beautiful bike! Man, that logo is huge, though.

How often does tour mag publish Aero numbers? Really curious as to what this bike will get.

I was able to get some weights of the frameset before my build started. The Frame 960 grams was with everything removed minus the 5 bottle cage bolts which added 7 grams the front derailleur mount and the rubber chain guard. The fork 376 grams and Seatpost 221 grams weight were uncut. This is for a size 54 black gloss. I think Cervelo lists the frame at 940 grams for 54 so pretty close.
Edit: it looks like I misses the 2 plastic pieces holding the seatpost clamping hardware together so maybe that added 6 grams.

I spent 1 month acquiring the parts for my build. I received my frameset on October 3rd and I built it on October 28. I purposely look for performance to cost when building this bike as I knew I wasn't overly concerned with hitting a really low weight by using Sram Red. I chose Sram since I'm invested into that system with my other bikes.

Custom Soloist cost breakdown. We all know that new bikes these days are ultra expensive and justifying the amount each person chooses to spend is a very personal subject. I based my build off the Cervelo Sram Force AXS bike with Quarq PM and 40/44mm Reserve Carbon wheels which cost $6,800. I was patient and planned out in my mind performance to cost needs and this was my journey. Obviously add another $$$ if your not building the bike yourself. My build was $6,420.28 and I used my Assioma PM pedals. The only Items I paid full MSRP on were the frame and Cassette.
Soloist Frame - $2700 Competitive Cyclist

@skinnybex,

As you have both the Soloist and the Caledonia-5, can you compare the ride comfort as it pertains to compliance and vibration? I know they have completely different geometry but I am interested in knowing how well the Soloist's seat post absorbs bumps and vibrations. On the front end, how does the Zipp bar/stem compare to the Caledonia's?

Thanks for any insight.

I'll need a bit more ride time as I rode yesterday for 72 miles and I'll ride Monday again for another 50-60 miles. My Caledonia is on Farsports Feder clinchers 26mm P-zero with TPU tubes and 80-90psi depending on conditions. That bike is my benchmark bike since the compliance is outstanding. Even at higher tire pressure the entire frame module feels great smoothing out road vibration on the chip seal. The Soloist is setup Tubeless with my Hookless Zipps and 61-65psi with a cotton front tire so it felt really smooth. Tomorrow I'll likely do my ride on the Feder wheels and that will give me an indication on how the soloist compliance feels H2H with my C5.

Regarding the Zipp bar and stem I'm really happy with my choices. That Sprint SL stem is stout and will be great for Crit racing next year. The SL70 bars are my favorite yet and overall I prefer them over the Cervelo HB13 bars. The shape works for me on the tops and I'm happy with the reach in the drops. Nothing to complain about with the Cervelo cockpit in the C5 other than I'll be sourcing a new set of HB13's in 38mm once I can get a deal on them. They work well with the ST31 stem for the internal routing.

These weights are pretty good, especially that fork. 960 grams for a stiff, pretty aero bike is very very competitive at this price. Seatpost is a little bit heavy, but I guess it could be cut? Any tuning opportunities, like Ti bolts?

I knocked off 20g from the seatpost with just a carbon cradle and lightweight yokes. I imagine more could be saved if you cut it (not planning to do that initially), but yeah, the seatpost is disappointingly heavy.

Id also expect a few lightweight seatpost offerings for sure from the usual suspects.

1st ride this morning on my Soloist and I must say the bike felt incredible. Although my ready to ride weight is 7.84kg it felt really lively and light underneath me on my punchy rolling hills and short power climbs. Also the 40mm Zipp SL70 aero bar with my shifters angled in felt amazing and effecient. I'll be triming the steerer shorter once I put the lower dust cover on since I wanted to ride it a few times first before making that decision.
What is the little clip thing under your stem for cable management? Did that come with the frame or the Zipp stem, or did you fabricate something?

Zip tie ends cut neatly to keep it looking clean and tidy.

Question: Do the cables pass through the headset bearings?
Yes, my brake cables pass through the headset bearings. It's a nice setup with how it was designed since you can swap stems and bars assuming you didn't internally route your cables and it looks clean. I'll be lowering my stack since I used the 30mm dust cap down to the 14mm and I'll trim the steerer again but I understood I'll have to disconnect hoses when I made that choice. I figured it was worth riding a bit just to make sure.

When purchasing the frame did it come with zero or 15mm offset?

My size 54 frame came with a 15mm setback post. I'm not sure about the smaller 48 & 51 frame sizes as they may come with zero offset.
