I know that a new SL8 is planned and all, but Spesh has so much brand equity that they could easily get away with selling the current SL7 with the new cockpit and maybe a layup update ala '21 Madone
The new cockpit is meant to add hype and aerodynamic credentials to the new model, selling the SL7 with it would be a questionable move as it would only dilute the perceived value of the new model.
Yeah, add the new, more aero cockpit to new model and you can advertise bigger aero gains on the frame over the previous model.

6 watts faster* than the old SL7 (* 5 of those watts come from the new cockpit and wheels, not mentioned anywhere in the marketing material)

Well, that's what they made with the SL7...

Ah, i repeat myself, i would easily take Dogma F over any other frameset currently available.
But if you ask me if it would be same if i paid retail, i would say no way!
I'm starting to trend the other way. Pinarello, Colnago and other "boutique brands", including custom Ti, used to be far more expensive than the mainstream brands. Now the difference is quite small, as mainstream has raised the price by insane amounts.

5700€ for an SL7 + 380€ handlebars
6100-6500€ (can't find which is full retail price) for a Dogma F including the bars

There's little to no difference now.

I wasn't going to pay 6k € for a bike frame 5 years ago and I'm going going to pay that now. It's not even about being able to afford it, but there's some limit to what I'm willing to pay for a bike frame.

Yeah sure. Neither would I. But that's a different can of worms

depends how much lighter the SL8 is, I might just buy an SL7 Sworks instead of an SL8 Expert frameset.
Should make my build ~200g lighter in comparison to my SL6 Sport frameset
Specialized SL7 - 7.1kg including Garmin mount, bottle cages and pedals

I wouldn't pay 5700€ for SL7 or 8 and not 6000€ for any Pinarello.
They are not nearly near worth those money. As i've seen NIB F12 go for 40% off. It's insanity that has driven the prices up.
If others are OK paying that, fine!
I'd rather go for something else.
For instance you might go for a Look frameset.
Bikes:

Ax Lightness Vial EVO Race (2019.01.03)
Open *UP* (2016.04.14)
Paduano Racing Fidia (kind of shelved)

Ex bike; Vial EVO D, Vial EVO Ultra, Scott Foil, Paduano ti bike.

I completely agree. I'm just taking about the price premium shrinking compared to mainstream, whether that's retail or sale price.

This should be the dedicated thread for this bike

Yonex Carbonex SLD
Image
M40X layup just like the Canyon Ultimate CFR and upcoming Elilee Blize
offered in just 2 sizes, XS and S (geo chart indicates different mould from standard Carbonex/Carbonex HR/Growent)
unpainted Size S frame is quoted at 540g, painted Size S frame weighed at 580g and fork quoted at ~300g (for perspective, a WW user weighed their Size 52 Aethos 12r at 571g for the frame and 271g for the fork)

The second best made carbon bike frames in the world, after TIME. I wish Yonex would do more ... if they did a newer version of their aero bike with disc and 32mm tire clearance I'd be all over it, even if I had to fly to Japan to collect it.

Looks like we were all wrong, not the Roubaix, not the Diverge, the Sirius!

Not bad bikes in fairness, my wife has a Siriux-X which she uses to do the 5km commute to work.
