Just ordered a pair of these to try out.

Wheel build will be as follows:

Tactic TR01 hubs - 24/24H - Shimano Freehub - 215g
Enve 5.6 Disc rim front - 54mm - 454.5g
Enve 5.6 Disc rim rear - 63mm - 483.8g
Sapim CX-Ray SP spokes x 48 - 230g (approximate)
Sapim alloy nipples x 48 - 16.8g

Total - 1,400.01g

Would love to get these under 1,400g, but we shall see...
Nice
You can! Just swap those Sapim CX-Ray by Alpina Hyperlite spokes. From head you will shave some 50g on those!
But Im not sure about the compromise there. A lot of builders adviced against using CX Super for that reason so stopped at cx-ray

Around 4k km now. Just riding fine. They likely need more maintenance but I would expect that you do so if you spend that amount of money :D
I mostly ride nowadays on the indoor trainer on another bike till the weather appeals to me :D

I was looking to get a set of wheels with the Tactic hubs, but my friend told me to avoid them at all cost.

"Water ingress into the hubs", "rusting occurs" and "require constant maintenance"

Anyone has encountered such problems?

I thought these were primarily made from aluminum so what would rust? Bearings?

I was actually thinking of building a set of Alta's with the Tactic 01 hubs. Would be a sub 1200g wheelset.

Any reason to go for Tactic-labeled ones instead of Non-Plus? At least here in EU the Non-Plus branded version sem to be significantly cheaper.

As far as I have seen, Non-Plus branded hubs are only available in J-Bend and 6 bolts option while tactic branded hubs are only available in straightpull and centerlock version.

Looks like the listing is gone on R2 but it was there last week.

900€ including VAT, straightpull, CL.

Nevermind I was wrong there is a straightpull centerlock version of Non-Plus hubs on R2.

Anyone that has those hubs can comment on replacing the freehub body / cassette interface without their toolset? I checked their video and they use their 170Euro toolset to remove the axle first. Can I get off the freehub body without this step, like on any other hub? The picture of wickedstealthy would suggest it is just like with any other hub?

if these are anything like the dash cycles hubs, stay away. my rear one locked up after a few rides.

i havent heard anything bad for these hubs, I am actually waiting for the delivery of my PCW Wake 6560 Evolution with Tactic TR01.
Considering their price i would go for the toolkit for sure

What does this hub have to do, or have in common, with three Tactic/NonPlus?

both used tiny bearings and both were the lightest at the time. i recommend going with light yet solid hubs like tune. or go with somewhat heavier but excellent hubs: campagnolo, dura ace, white industries, chris king,dt swiss
