Anyone try one of these Chinese cassettes? Looks like a SRAM 1170.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/224625808329?h ... SwULxhUYvy

With parts shortage and prices going up on everything, thinking someione else tried one (w/SRAM group).

Also, same for knock-off SRAM chains: https://www.ebay.com/itm/202863577641?var=503034240146

Anyone try one or both? Who knows; maybe they come out of same factory that makes SRAM (and same tooling).

To be pedantic, these aren't knock-offs but aftermarket. They don't pretend to be a SRAM or aren't a copy of.

There are much better chinese after-market cassettes than the one you linked which was 350g for an 11-28.

ZTTO are pretty good and lighter than the Shimano/SRAM equivalent at 208g https://www.ebay.com/itm/393503453772 . Personally I'd buy them through Aliexpress as you'll get them a bit cheaper. I've been using a 11-32 version of this with great success for ~5,000km and happy so far

Yeah, I've had great success with ZTTO/SROAD cassettes- very reasonably priced and quite light.
2014 Madone 5.9 w/R9100 shifters and R8000 everything else- using 38mm ICANs or 60/90 SuperTeams- 7.25kgs with the ICANs and Garmin Vector S dual sided PM pedals- not super light but not a dog, either!

I on the other hand had an awful experience with the ztto, there was one cog that there where something wrong with, everything was new and it wouldn't stop skipping, only on that one cog.

The SROAD cassettes are great. Lighter and cheaper than the Shimano equivalent with similar shifting performance with Ultegra Di2.

Only downsides are that they are slightly noisier and marginally slower shifting on very rare occasions.

I run etap, which is already slower shifting than di2!

I've never tried ZTTO or BDop but am considering trying one when it's time to replace my chain. The ZTTO looks to have it's biggest gears in 7075 alloy and the smaller gears in steel. The BDop is all 7075 Alloy.

I'd love comparisons in shifting with Shimano Di2 if anyone has tried both.

Did you contact them? They're usually very reasonable about replacing stuff.

I run a ZTTO on 8050 and 9150 with similar shifting to a DA cassette.

Thanks @timmerrr. Are you using a Shimano chain?

I've told myself when my current chain on my climbing bike wears out, I'm going to try a lighter 11-32 cassette see how I like waxing my chain. Currently using an Ultegra 11-32 and dry lube. It's not the only reason why I want to try waxing my chain, but I am hoping that it keeps the alloy cogs from wearing out as fast.

Shimano chain on the 9170 and a PYC gold chain on the 8050. I will be using the PYC chains on everything going forward. They come with no/very minimal lube which makes cleaning for wax much easier. I just did a 120 mile gravel ride in the rain and the cassette still looks good

  • I'm running R8070 and was originally running the 11-28 Shimano 105 cassette that came with the bike
I first installed the ZTTO 11-32 and it worked OK, but not as crisp as the 105 on a couple of the gears
I went back to the 11-28 because of this, back to perfect shifting
I reinstalled the 11-32 for a hilly trip but took the time to adjust the RD trimming more this time, now it's perfect and I haven't taken it off since
