Seka Exceed RDC

Hello all,

Saw the SEKA EXCEED RDC recently on various platforms.
Looks like a Factor Ostro (Front) + SL7 (Rear)
Based on information, it is 7.3kg with Ultegra Di2 w/o pedals.
Can be further reduced with adjustments/change of components.

EXCEED is a fully integrated aerodynamic frame, fork and handlebar combination which has been designed to slice through the air with the minimum of watts from the rider. And when the road heads up this lightweight RDC version will not hold you back.

Two aerodynamic frame options - standard and the lighter RDC
High performance composite processes to ensure stiff, light and compliant frame
One piece handlebar included to ensure the lowest system drag
Fully integrated cable routings for both mechanical and electronic shifting
Weight - 775g for RDC version (Medium unpainted)

Anyone have tried/feedback on this bike?
Feel free to share as much information as possible because there isn't much data available in the internet.

BELOW IS MODERATOR EDIT:

HI EVERYONE,

Given how it's been with Seka, I'm wondering if there is interest in crowdsourcing data for a Seka Order Tracking Sheet to get a sense of where people are at with their orders. Maybe there is a pattern based on location, website, or Frame Size like it has been suggested earlier?

Either reply to this thread or DM me info and I will add you to the list.

Example:

Info:
Forum Name (optional):
Pre Order Reservation Date:
Full Balance Payment Date:
Your Country Location:
Frame Size:
Which Model:
Exceed/RDC
Which Color:
Which Bar-Stem Combo:
Shipment Received:
YES OR NO
Which Website or Shop did you order from?

Very light bike! How was the ride as compared to mainstream brands?
Any comparisons?

Not a VBR-099 at all. Tubeshapes are completely different.

I like it a lot. Never heard of the brand before.

No American company would probably name themselves Seka. :-)

Oh noes, I've been fanboying this brand since its early days of inception.

In fact I have an AFIELD here built up here for a friend, and I believe it's the ONLY unit seen so far in the entire country.

Part of me is happy they finally get some recognition outside of China, another part of me hope that it doesn't blow up like Winspace does.

What is the tire clearance? Anyone have a picture of the distance between the chainstays?

Finally something that is reasonable and worth the money!

It seems the web data will be updated with bar drop and reach aswell as tire clearance pretty soon.

How do you know it's worth the money? Is nobody skeptical of a manufactuer that comes to the forum to post an ad? Is that even allowed?

my friends got 2 normal version, not RDC frames, which is about 150g heavier but much cheaper. we went though a 120km ride with some 1000m climb and descend. they commented it as typical aero frame but somehow with comfort. not agile comparing to my helium, which cornering like a fox. I'm considering the RDC frame since I'vd sold my systemsix.

Well, it's without tax which is no funny thing when it comes to imports over here. But looking at what you get and the numbers, you sure get alot more for your money than with the big brands. I do like to ask you, why are you sceptical? Do you rather pay for Specialized, Trek or similar?
Personally i wouldn't as prices are nothing but bizarre as of lately.

I'm only skeptical because I've never heard of them and they just popped up on a forum that I read. They seem to be charging $2344 for a Velobuild built frame with a fancier paintjob and better marketing. You can buy a Velobuild for $500.

I might be comfortable with direct to China at the $500 price point but at $2300 I'd want to see the bike positively reviewed by the cycling press, some track record of success, a presence in my country, and a warranty that could be collected on without having to ship a frame back to China.

^ I don't see a tube that is identical.
Most notable differences are:
1) SystemSix style chime at the fork/headtube exist on Seka but not on VB.
2) T47 bb vs bb86
3) Much bulkier bb area on Seka that extend toward under the water bottle vs simple slim bb shape on vb.
4) Totally different seatpost shape & clamp.
5) Different fork, VB use 45mm fork offset on all sizes, Seka use 50mm offset for two smallest sizes and 46mm offset on the rest.
6) Geometry numbers are all different
7) Straight chainstay on Seka, Slight curve on VB.
8 ) Joint between seatstay and chainstay is bulkier on VB vs Seka.

Saying they are the same is like saying Tarmac SL7 is the same as BMC Teammachine... They both have drop stay but they aren't the same.
