Official pricing up: https://www.chickencyclekit.co.uk/shop/brand/campagnolo

£313.99 RRP Cassettes :(

I wonder if there'll be lower tier offerings later on so you don't need to fork out on SR wearable parts so often.
The current Super Record 12-speed cassette is £319.99 RRP and a Red AXS XG-1290 cassette is £339.00 RRP. Dura-Ace R9200 is £329.99 RRP.
Okay, compare the chainsets RRP instead. Campagnolo £930. Shimano £550. SRAM £692. Hell you can get 9200 cranks (discounted) and Assiomas (single sided) for £924 right now.

SR12 chainset RRP is £864.99, which includes a titanium axle and a pair of CULT bearings (that retails for about £150).

I mentioned it in the Pro thread, but rumours are AG2R are going Van Rysel next year, so probably won't retain Campagnolo. Lotto-Dstny to BMC potentially? Do they have deep enough pockets for switching to Campagnolo too?
Ah I missed that - could be no Campg teams in the WT then. Jeez.
Why would going to Van Rysel mean abandoning Campy?
The WT-bound RCR just so happens to have a Campy model

GCN do not review product.

It is a first look. A paid first look.

Yeah, Lavenu is a stubborn Campy fan, hard to see him move away from Campy, even with all the SRAM money thrown at him

What is it you are objecting to here?

Has GCN ever said anything (not) in review is bad? It's all rather benign IMHO and I pay for it.
Anyway off subject, said my bit above. TTFN

But GCN does not review anything. This is not a review. If you find a review on GCN, then please let me know.

If you watch the video, it says 'Campagnolo say xxxx', 'they claim xxxx', 'the developers have xxxx'.

You might pay for GCN+, but that is different to the YouTube business.

The GCN video made the groupset sound worse than other reviews.

"Campagnolo says that the shifting is as fast as the previous wired version" V4, which is as fast as EPS V1/2/3.
So shifting speeds haven't changed since EPS inception.

They also confirmed that it's heavier than current EPS wired with a battery that lasts 3 months.

Also, they keep making a big deal about how fast it is to charge the battery, that only confirms how awful the battery life must be.

No more ranting for me :)

Aside from the crazy price, a lot of very passive reviewers (I includ EC in that) are raising what appear to be valid questions about the shifter buttons and how intuitive, or even safe in the drops (accidental shifts), they are. Combined with the odd looks and divisive cassette / chainring combos, I don't think this is going to be very enticing to many people beyond those who just want the most expensive bike possible.

To me the biggest mistake is having two different batteries. Finding a way to hide the battery somewhere between the crankset or the chain stay and having a single wire running between front and rear derailleur would have been awesome actually. With much bigger battery and and much slicker look.

I get the need to go wireless between cockpit and derailleur, but that doesn't mean they HAD to go wireless between the two derailleurs if they had issues with the "same battery" patent from competitors.

I was waiting for this release for over a year, and have known the details since then.

I am not impressed at all and am glad I did not commit to it then on a custom build.

I never joined the 12Sp club and stuck to 11sp as it was lighter and looked better on my 2x rim brake bike.

I have Ekar on my Rando bike and absolutely love it.

I have 12sp Record Hydro sitting in boxes (and an Unbuilt Custom painted Open UP to put it on). I was going to put WRL on it - but now I am more excited about just running Record 12sp on it - so I don't lose the thumb button.

Campy dropped the ball big time on this one.

BTW - I am a proud Mamil. This group is not creating any desire in me to want to buy it.

There's nothing here that would make me choose SR WL over DADi2, if I'm honest - and I'm a big Campag fan.

My hope was they'd outline a new style of groupset that, if/when it trickled down to Chorus level, would let me have Campag's thumbshifters with wireless tech and a charger that wasn't ludicrously fiddly. As it is, there's no obvious USP. I don't mind the new ratios and I actually quite like the looks, but with no thumbshifter and nothing actually new, I'm struggling to 'get' it.

Most worryingly, Campag now seem to be hinting mechanical might not be around all that much longer, which is a real shame. I thought Chorus 11 and 12 were perfect for a 'nice but not too expensive' bike, and keeping a nice mechanical and rim brake bike around is ideal for travel (no issues with charging or bleeding) or just for a 90 minute brisk spin on a sunny day where you want the sound and feel that only mechanical Campagnolo has. It might be time to go looking on eBay...
